Shigshwa's Grow Log 2015-2016 (Hydro Grow of Carolina Reapers)

NOTE: Skip to the later pages to see my latest grow. Most of this is a log of my previous grows.

---------------------------------------------------------
I saw quite a lot of grow logs out here, which inspired me to make one myself. I thought that I could also use this as an opportunity to learn from the more experienced growers as well. A bit about me:

1. At this point in time, I'm 16, likely making me one of the younger growers here.
2. Although I like to mess with all things technology, I also like gardening as well
3. This is my first time growing peppers, so I'm hoping that everything goes well!

Now, onto the peppers.

The Story So far

The first sprout, and still my biggest!

The peppers, day 3. Some of these were my friends, because he was on vacation. Can't believe they were this small!

A bit under 2 weeks old, when they were still under my now sold HPS bulb. My first sprout is the one in the big pot.

A bit after the last photo. Now that's growth!

Last image of them, days before being in the tent.

The new grow tent, next to my computer.

A bit under a month old, just a few days in the new grow tent. I will get a MH system soon...

Taken just now, 1 month 1 day old, few days after the last photo. The growth has EXPLODED ever since they were placed in the tent. The one in the very front is the Bhut, or so I believe, and the other 3 are the Butch Ts, one in the very back being my first sprout.

Hey Shigs-
Welcome back- as to the hail storm-what doesn't kill em makes em stronger!Who woulda thought: Douglahs in Colorado.Keep it up buddy-
Dave

Thought I'd do an update after coming back from vacation. I'm glad to be home.

The single pod on the TS plant. It's not as healthy looking, despite all the blooms. It might be the fertillizer that I'm neglecting to give it, I think it's hungry for some nutrients.

dsc00601w.jpg

The various Douglah pods. I counted about 15 in all.

Giant Jalapeno. Doing good so far.

dsc00604xxz.jpg

This picture does not do justice the 50-60 Ghost Jalapeno pods that are on this right now. It's very prolific, like last season indoors.

An update of the plants.

Red Trinidad Douglah??

20120827101626.jpg

Trinidad Scorpion.. Only 2 pods, and they are both very small.. this plant doesn't seem to be producing.

20120827101651.jpg

I don't know.. those don't look like giant jalapenos to me. Must be an F1 plant.

The hybrid plant. still very prolific.

As far as the small "Jumbo" Jals and the non-producing Scorpions go...I have run into that with several plants this season. Sometimes you just get a seed with all the Danny Devito genetics, and other times you get the Arnolds. Did those Jals come from purchased seeds? Most of the jumbo Jal Varieties are hybrids and don't grow true from harvested seeds. Still looking good!

They were purchased, yes.

This guy is a big one! Could it possibly be a Douglah? I tried a sizeable chunk of the other Douglah the other day.. Before the heat kicked in and nearly killed me, I noted it was kind of bitter.. and kind of earthy.. Could it truly be a red Douglah?
