I went to College in Pennsylvania with a lot of 'coal crackers'.
I can't remember that we ever got very far making boilo.
We always seemed to run out of the ingredient on the far right!

The key is to have booze to drink separate from your ingredients. Can't go round havin weak boilo.

Interesting, how did it come out? Oh and when's the taste test :)
Neither had I, I had to read this

It's freakin delicious. Picture OJ and honey on roids. It's actually a very complex flavor for the simple list of ingredients.

You add your booze after you simmer everything else. Once it's all together, you "taste test" over and over while you're making your next batch.

Wait a minute...is this your second batch?!?!

What happened to the first batch?!
Does a batch have to sit for some time, or can you drink it right away?

After years of making Glogg, mulled wines, fruited brandies and cordials, this boilo thing has me veeeeery curious!!!!!!! :D

Hey. Whats up with that?

No proper list of ingredients, amounts, and procedures?

C'mon man!

Those Orangez look fantastic.

Our first batch of boilo was Black Friday. It's become a tradition. This is our second batch of the year. We double the recipe when we make a batch. But we're making a double, double batch tonight. Letting it sit is undesirable as that means you aren't drinkin it. So drink right away(:

Wahhhhhhh to Scovie yelling at me! It's a very time honored secret! Past down from generation to generation! If you want my recipe pm me(:

HAHAHAHA NO YELLING! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I don't want your great grammies and grampies rolling over in their graves, then scolding me in the middle of the night cuz I didn't do it right! I would seriously try it, I just don't know that I could commit hhwiskey to something I might not love. Does it taste Orangy and Raiseny, and Honeyeyee?

It's the champagne of coal miners lol! Not sure how to describe it! You might just have to have a taste test!

Hmmmm...... thought you had a meeting in the morning!?!?

That looks pretty cool. Found this on wiki.

The traditional Lithuanian name is "Krupnickas."[sup][1][/sup]
Characteristically boilo has a standard recipe including oranges, lemons, nutmeg, cloves, caraway seed, honey, ginger ale, and anise seed. The traditional base ingredient in Boilo is moonshine but most receipes have replaced home-brewed moonshine with blended whiskey; the most common being Four Queens 100 proof blended whiskey.

I like all of the ingredients so what's not to like?
