    Deformed leaves...not again!

Wow, I was really thinking an infestation. I won't have the time to order something but there are some better seedling mixes around here, I was just using what I had on hand. I'll get some Fafard tomorrow. I always had good results with that. And I'll look into Maxigrow.   Thank you for the info...

    Deformed leaves...not again!

I know they are not over watered. I was suspecting broad mites. I don't feed them anything. They are two weeks old, Jiffy pellets into MG seedling mix. I never add anything until plants are at least 6 inches tall.   What do you think I should give them?

    Deformed leaves...not again!

Should I suspect Broad mites? Apart from the curling, they seem to have stalled.

seeds When do you eliminate seedlings from the same pot?

I used to separate them as soon as they looked strong enough to handle (usually just after first set of true leaves) but now I just plant a single seed in each tray or Jiffy pod. I hate messing with them when they are small. I have found that if the seeds are good, they'll likely all germinate...

New season, looking for the Reaper

Thinking the genetic is the only cool thing about this one!

How long before you throw in the towel?

Start another batch up if you can get seeds in the next week or two! You definitely still have time but you'll have a late summer crop. I have been exactly where you are and thought of just giving it up. You'll get the hang of it. Next year, start a little earlier maybe. Every year will be a...

New season, looking for the Reaper

Wow, thank you all very much! Definitely interested in the B strain. I'll p.m. a few of you. Let me know if there is anything you guys would like that I have. I have shipped some Bolivian Rainbows all over the world. They seem to be very popular. Nice plant, tasty medium heat peppers great for...

New season, looking for the Reaper

The start of a new season is always exciting. This year will be my third year starting from seed and after yet another winter long battle with aphids, I have so far managed to keep 25 plants alive thanks greatly to help from this forum.   I'll be starting the new plants this week and looking...

overwintering A few questions before I overwinter...

Wow, some great advice! Thank you all. I usually trim them down a fair bit then keep them under T8's for the winter. I have given up on trying to produce as the 8's are just not doing it no matter which bulbs I use. I'd settle for dormant but I have some questions about that: How do I know they...

overwintering A few questions before I overwinter...

Yes, spraying did little for me in the past. I have no trouble during the summer outside but as soon as I get them inside, the little buggers come out. O don't even know where they are coming from. There are no visible signs when I bring the plants in.   As for ladybugs, I cannot find a place...

overwintering A few questions before I overwinter...

Hello all;   First off: I still have quite a few plants with unripened pods. (mostly Fatali and Bhut) I'm wondering if I pluck the fruit and set it in the sun, will it ripen? I need to get the plants inside and so I need to spray them with insecticidal soap. (I don't use peppers that have been...

    Question about ordinary house flies

Well this has been interesting, and entertaining.   I'm not sure where they come from (the flies) but they show up every year for a few weeks. : /

    Question about ordinary house flies

On very hot days there are hundreds of house flies all over and around my pepper plants.   Are they eating aphids or laying eggs that aphids will eat? Long short - are thay distructive or benificial?   I can't seem to find an answer to this simple question on the weeb.   Thank you

    Wilting

First off, I apologise if this has been covered a bazillian times.   One of my plants is wilting badly. The 40 others have been doing ok in partial shade, they wilt a little during the day while the sun reaches them under the gazebo. This one plant doesn't come back in the evening, it's pathetic...
