container Young plants questions (topping, pinching, watering a wilted plant)

Understood. I guess I'll choose the uncertainty of the wind against the uncertainty of the plant growth then. I added an extra Velcro tie closer to the top to secure it, and placed at the least windy part of the terrace. Let's hope it holds up... I also pinched the tiny flowers that started...

container Young plants questions (topping, pinching, watering a wilted plant)

Re: topping. My terrace has a lot of open space, and it's not well protected from the wind. If it were a fully developed plant, with a thick trunk and all, I wouldn't mind it being a bit taller. But I'm afraid that wind gusts will torture it, and I will be away for a week... I am still torn, I...

container Young plants questions (topping, pinching, watering a wilted plant)

The sticks are just some bamboo skewers, they are there to deter cats from using the plants as their litter... Not sure what you mean by plumping up, is it something that has to do with watering? As for potting up, these are already 5.5 gallon pots, this is going to be their last destination...

That's how it looks 25 days after potting it! It grows at an amazing rate, actually this pic was from 24 hours ago and there has been visible growth since then.

container Young plants questions (topping, pinching, watering a wilted plant)

This is my fifth year growing, but only the second year doing things properly (grow light, heating mat, etc.) These plants were planted two months ago, and most will be moved to my terrace on Wednesday. Before doing that, I have some questions to make sure I'm doing everything right. Soil...

container Stunted growth from last year's (heavily pruned) peppers

Thanks for the advice! I have been moving the pots around, and the Jalapenos have probably spent the least amount of time under the sun in total (I had them where the Bhut and the Habanero are now for the longest amount of time). The species thing sure makes a lot of sense, but I just don't see...

container Stunted growth from last year's (heavily pruned) peppers

tbh, I wasn't paying much attention since I pruned them, so I can't say for sure. It's been at least 2-3 months, because leaves were developed (and the plants infested with aphids) more than a month ago.

container Stunted growth from last year's (heavily pruned) peppers

I recently posted about this year's plants, and I am now seeking advice on last year's peppers. I live in Crete, Greece, and temperatures are currently around 70-75F (20-23C) during the day and 53-59F (12-15C) during the night. I heavily pruned my plants during the winter but left them on the...

container Back with more questions (potting, topping, fertilizing, and first bonchi!)

I transitioned them to 1 gal pots to make the hardening-off process easier--I just transfer the dog kennel to the yard which has a tiny bit of (weak) sun at a changing angle. I'm now at 4 hours/day, adding one hour daily. I guess I'll transition them to full-sized pots and move to the terrace...

Not the most popular post here, it seems, but here's an update:

container Back with more questions (potting, topping, fertilizing, and first bonchi!)

I'm back after a not-so-good year--aphids messed up some plants, cats messed up others, and weather wasn't ideal. Out of last year's peppers, the Scotch Bonnet was a great producer, with the Habanero a close second, followed by the Bhut Jolokia (which was surprisingly mild). My Trinidad Scorpion...

issue What are these orange-ish streaks on my Anaheim peppers?

It does look like sunscald, but it doesn't seem very likely with that weather. The fruits were normal when the temp here was much much higher, and the sun isn't burning during the last month. In any case, would you say they are safe to eat (or make sauce etc.)?

issue What are these orange-ish streaks on my Anaheim peppers?

The fruits of my Anaheim plant have been like that for the last month or two. I think it had some issues earlier during the season (some fruits had holes on them, with no apparent pests on the plant), but I may be mixing it up with my Piquillo plant. In any case, would you say that these are...

health Is this a disease, or is it normal?

Thanks! I was googling versions of "yellow spots on pepper leaves" and the only thing that consistently appeared in the results is bacterial leaf spot, was worried it was maybe the first sign of it.

health Is this a disease, or is it normal?

I recently moved this Anaheim pepper to a pot, and I realized today that there's something wrong with some of the leaves. Is this some kind of a disease, or is it a stress/overwatering/fertilizer etc. thing? Could it be too much magnesium (I have sprayed my peppers with Epsom Salts on occasion...
