A Pepperhead glog: Pickling, Saucing, and Powdering

The thing I've found about Bhuts is the Reds get hotter towards the end of the growth cycle, and the first ones that ripen are not nearly as hot. Let them go another 6 weeks and what is left hanging will drop anybody that tries them:)

    1st take on pepper growing

I doubt those could grow any better than that. Wow. Even the Bhuts look amazing, and its fairly early for them. I am so impressed.

breeding Trying to figure out what crossed with my peach bhut

It looks like a very common pepper. It might turn out really cool though:) Here is what mine look like: Really I just want to share a photo of my first Bhuts of the summer. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153077340185487&set=a.10153063076030487.1073741832.824165486&type=1&theater

2013 Bhut Jolokia from Meghalaya, India Grow Logs

7/28/2013 - Started moving more plants from inside outside due to over crowding inside. Moved all but 8 plants outside due to overcrowding. Raised the grow light about a foot. I am contemplating trimming these all down short so that they grow back short and bushier. Will probably wait until...

2013 Bhut Jolokia from Meghalaya, India Grow Logs

I just had another idea to keep more plants when the foliage on the top of the plant covers underneath. Side lighting will likely supplement the hidden areas of these plants if I trim shoots in layers. Also some inexpensive led panels in each row might do the trick as well.

2013 Bhut Jolokia from Meghalaya, India Grow Logs

Latest Photos from 7/11/2013. Plants are still thriving:) Trippa & Jeff,   Undoubtably, you may be right, but only time will tell. The plants have absolutely no mold issues, and pests are 100% under control with lady bugs. They currently are still get alot of wind action from a single...

2013 Bhut Jolokia from Meghalaya, India Grow Logs

love2grow's Ghost Peppers 7/7/2013 Added 4 more plants to grow bags today for indoor total of 22. 30 would of been possible, but now that the most mature plants are almost 2 feet tall the smaller ones would be overgrown. 25 plants in grow bags is the maximum in current situation. Most mature...

    Something is eating my plants

I've got the same issue on my outdoor Bhuts, and I think it might be birds. Indoor plants look fine. Slugs generally leave a slug trail so probably nothing to worry about. I use lady bugs indoors, but outside they just fly away.

pics RIP Bhut Jolokia seedlings - I've done all I can. Pics inside.

It was clearly the sun, and the soil mixture. It cannot be stressed enough to not grow them in direct sunlight the first several weeks of their life. They do very well in shade with indirect sunlight a small portion of the day until they set a couple sets of true leaves. I had excellent success...

2013 Bhut Jolokia from Meghalaya, India Grow Logs

Does anybody here have any suggestions on how to maximize the number of plants I am growing under a 450Watt HPS Grow light? I currently have 18 3 gallon grow bags at 7x7 inches each, and only 18 bags, but I think I can effectively get 25 bags, and 30 bags with 6 getting limited but sufficient...

    Superhots Only

I'm surprised you excluded the Ghost Pepper. I have a strain that took 2 to 4 months to ripen depending on the pod, and am growing this year entirely from seeds coming from that plant. At the 3 month mark my wife whom normally eats Ghost Peppers like Candy stopped eating themn because the heat...
