I do think there is a bit of a difference in the plants I have in two different types of pots, but it could just as well be the placement in the tent that's the cause and not just pot size. But it will be interesting to keep following the progress of those plants.
I knew I had pods on the Black...
Okay, this is going to be a very picture heavy update. Don't say I didn't warn you.
But before that, I would love some input/help on an issue I've encountered with my hydro plants. They are now so top-heavy that they have a tendency to fall over once they use up 2/3 of the water. I thought...
Note to self, starting in late december might be too early 😅
I ended up moving three plants outside of the grow tent this past weekend. I chose three plants that were shorter than the rest with the idea that the lesser amount of light will make them stretch a bit:
The grow tent is still...
Plants are still happy and growing a lot. Space is now becoming an issue and my big grow tent is getting quite crowded and it's hard to water the plants in the back without moving other plants out of the tent:
I might have do something about this during the weekend, we'll see.
Several of the...
Thank you for the kind words @Downriver & @CaneDog.
It definitely feels like I'm doing something right this season and it's been a while since I've had so many plants in picture perfect health. I usually struggle with some oedema, especially on annuums, but this year I have not seen any yet...
Beautiful plants, will definitely keep following your grow this year.
I also find it a little bit amusing that you're doing the exact opposite of me. I have my trial plants in hydro and my "main" plants in soil
Should be plenty of information in the forum, just do a search for nutrients or NPK.
I keep forgetting the best NPK ratio, so I won't even guess.
I'm doing a very small kratky hydro grow this year and it's my first time growing in hydro but seem to be doing pretty ok.
I use Terra Aquatica...
It's been less than a week since I repotted the final plants but I do think they have taken a liking to their new homes. Not sure if it's my imagination or not but several plants look like they've grown a lot in the past few days:
One of the Sugar Rush Peach Striped plants has one big pepper...
Ever since I decided to go for the larger pots this season I've been thinking about pot size for repotting.
I think the general consensus is to increase pot size by 20% or so each time but that's not how it works out in the wild, so why would we need to do it when growing in containers?
Anyway...
No worries, not sure if I mentioned where I got the seeds. Anyway, I got them from a fellow THP member, @TexasHotPeppers, who has a shop with loads of interesting varieties. Here's a link to the Trinidad Scorpion X Congo Chocolate: link
I did take delivery of the new fabric pots so part of the weekend was spent repotting plants until I ran out of soil. The ones most in need were repotted and they all had very nice roots:
So ten plants were repotted and now they look tiny in their new, and final, homes:
There will be four...
