Back in the saddle, a 2023 glog

Oh my goodness, it's been three weeks since the last update? Thankfully I've taken some photos during my absence so you can see some of the progress and changes since the last time. I guess this image is about three weeks old, the grow tent was still crowded back then and I hadn't...

Back in the saddle, a 2023 glog

Will be a short update this time around. Almost all of the photos I took yesterday are unusable. I really need to devote some time to refresh my photography skills, the basics are there but I keep messing up the focus. Anyway, on to the glog, that's what this is all about after all :) I did...

Another sunday, another update. I ended up tasting one of the Yellow Bullet Habaneros this weekend which was quite an experience considering I hadn't eaten a fresh pepper since 2018. Anyway, first two pictures before a very brief review (ruler is in centimeters): I first ate the bottom half...

Thanks for the input @Downriver but I don't think anything differs between this window and the other window. Both have vents to the outside above them, no other AC/heat vents. The window with the "issues" is a bit further from the exit door but it's probably 6-8 meters (20-26') to the door so I...

I've experienced BLS before and I don't think that is it, although it does look slightly similar. I will try to take a few better photos of it. Of the four plants, three are Chinense and one is an Annuum, and it's one of the Chinense that is not affected. Three of them are sown with seeds bought...

    Downriver 2023 - Pepper Time

Off to a great start! The Ghostly Jalapeno was a new acquaintance for me but seems very interesting. Will keep an eye on it and your opinions once it starts producing. It might be something for me grow next year.

    SKULLBIKER 2023, LESS FOR ME

Yeah that Brainstrain is amazing! It keeps producing year round, or does it go into dormant periods during the "cooler" periods (if you can ever call Florida chilly )

An update is long overdue, but here it finally is. The Sugar Rush X Mango in the tiny pot keeps trucking on but has lost two pods unfortunately. One was dropped by the plant itself and I elected to remove the other since it had not grown for a couple of weeks. Still no signs of...

    First Grow Log..let's grow!

Quite an ambitious first grow (with peppers), I like it! Best of luck on the grow, and remember we gladly offer advice if you run into troubles or have questions

Yeah and the pods have quite a heft to them, they are by no means lightweight. Gonna be very interesting to try one once it has ripened.

The plants are growing well, so well in fact that I had to start moving some of them out of the tent since it was getting a bit crowded. Some family photos first, here's the first set of plants I put in the window earlier: And here are the plants I moved out of the tent yesterday: Which gave...

    Barbarian's 2023 Grow Log

Keep in mind that vermiculite retains water, which can be bad if you do not account for it since pepper plants generally do not like wet conditions. If you want to have the soil more fluffy and airy I personally think perlite is better since you won't have the same water retention.

    Peter Peps! Grow Log

Nice work on nursing that little guy at the start! Getting the first true leaves is always a joy and then you know things are about to pop off! And as others have said, be a bit careful with watering peppers and generally "less is more". Better to let them dry out than swim, they easily...

Yes indeed! And on several plants as well, going to inspect the plants carefully and share more details on the next update.

Back in the saddle, a 2023 glog

So, been away on a business trip for 9 days and didn't have anyone to take care of the plants so I came home to this: It was expected though and based on experience I think most plants will recover just fine. What did surprise me though is that some of the plants actually seemed fine, and...

It's never too early to get started!

Quite good-looking plants! Keeping fingers crossed for the Schneider farms SB overwinter to perk up.

    Growing some tasty stuff

It has really been a joy to catch up on this glog and I can identify with a lot of the trials and tribulations you've been facing. :) I also wholeheartedly agree on the concept of having a grow tent in the living room as a completely normal thing

I got them as a gift from another member here, @Trident chilli Hopefully I can get some peppers this time around so I will have a seed supply to share from, although I won't be able to guarantee that it hasn't been crossed

Thanks and I agree. I think in previous seasons the plants got a bit leggier at the start but having them compacter like this is better. Guess I'm just impatient  Thanks, compactness is a good way to describe the SB7J. Don't think I've ever had a plant this compact before. The White...
