This is my first year growing, but since I've been riding motorcycles for around 12 years daily, I've always had a habit of checking the weather like 10 times a day LOL....  Now that I grow, it's another reason to check it :)

When you say that, do you mean on all plants, or just seedlings?  I thought flourescents should be as close as they can without overheating the plant? I keep my CFL's 1/2" or so away from my fully grown pepper plants, all around it, but this winter I'll be starting indoors from seeds using...

Thanks! I'll probably start some a little earlier than that, and start more every 2-3 weeks so I know I'll have proper plants to put out! lol I might end up getting a shop light, I like having all my CFL's in "clamp lights" so I can angle them all around my plants, depending on how much I grow...

Next year will my first year starting from seed, I already have some "grow lights", and plan on getting more if needed.  Want to have some decent sized plants to put out after first frost!  I'm from Missouri, so kind of following your guys advice that are from IL ;)

I didn't want to make my own post and clog the forum....  But like (4-5 days ago) I saw this crazy infestiona over most of my watermelon vines (grown in a storage tote) only 3-4 foot from my peppers in buckets...  They are definitely bugs, I don't know how they blew up so fast, I check my plants...

Your Jalapenos are growing great!  They almost look like they are catching up to mine!  Now you have me questioning why mine are growing so slow haha

My plants have been outside, I do think I overwater a bit, and my soil has compacted and doesn't drain worth a shit, but the season is almost over, so I'll ride it out for now.   Just a few minutes ago I asked a friend of a friend what seeds he had, he had told me that he had hot pepper seeds...
