glog Marturos 2025 Glog.

Hello everyone, welcome to my 2025 Glog.
2024 was a great year for peppers we grew many new varieties with great tasting pods.

2025 is looking good so far we just got the seeds planted & on the heating mats.
A little later than last season however with LEDs we needed to start the plants later.
Last season the plants were a little root bound by plant out..

Ah! I see 🤓

I’ll follow the contest, and I’ll be here in Jan 2026 to make sure I can join next year’s throwdown!

@Bou can I send you a SASE so I can get some Tasmanian Black? It’s too late for me to compete, but I’m getting envious after reading the 2025 Throwdown thread! I would love to have TB in my grow list
Unfortunately, since I've shared most of my seeds for the Growdown my reserve is almost depleted at the moment and I'm going to keep the few I have left in case something goes wrong and I can't replenish my stock next fall. I could send you some at the end of the current season if you are still interested.

im going to get some TB seeds on my own, and just grow 1-2 plants for fun. Thanks @Bou and sorry @Marturo for hijacking the thread.

The Hildalgo are definitely fuzzy. They'll almost give your Rayados a run for their money. I'm a big fan of the pods, too.

Hope plant out isn't too far away for you. The way those guys are putting on size 3.25" pots aren't going to last them too long!

These are the plants at right about now last season . I started them a month late this season.
I blame it all on the LED grow lights, at 14 hours a day of perfect sunshine they grow real fast.

Brandywine, Mortgage lifter & Maglia Rosa Tomatoes started same time.

Looking good Marturo!
Thanks @NJChilehead it getting exciting, with all the new & familiar faces growing bigger everyday.
In still feel like a newbie with the LED grow lights. For decades we grew our starts under Fluorescent grow lights
The starts are growing like they are outside under the sun, it's a little on the WOW side.

The 2 most signifying changes we made in the last 3 seasons, LED grow lights & Garden Friendly Fungicide.
Lights brought about growth that is beyond anything we ever had with Fluorescent grow lights & the Bio Fungicide
prevented FG larvae from hatching.

I'm having the same reaction. I grew for 20 years with fluorescent lights and a few days ago I set up some LEDs as @CaneDog suggested, and so far I'm really impressed! I'll follow up with some details on my GLOG.

. I did manage to get 4 HSH bonnets to germinate but only 1 made it to a starter pot and it doesn't look great.

My HSH Bonnets took over 3 weeks to pop, by then I had my own LHF Bonnets sown.
The Baker Creek Zapotec Jalapeños took over 3 weeks & were very difficult to get going.

Both bonnet & zapotec seeds looked over dried & dark.
The HSH Bonnets look much smaller than my LHF Bonnets less wrinkled leaves.
