glog It's never too early to get started!

Sooo... 2022 season is over and most of my 2023 plants are already there - no reason not to start a new thread already! πŸ˜ƒ

See my previous glog... https://thehotpepper.com/threads/2022-too-early-to-get-started.75362/

While all my current plants are technically overwinterers, only a couple have grown through the 2022 season and are considered interesting enough to keep for next seasons grow.

Let's start with the famous Schneider farms SB plant, which will be going into it's third season in 2023. It currently doesn't look all that nice but that was also the case during the winter of 2021 so no worries here...

And then there's the Humble Servants Homestead (HSH) SB, which was also elected to stay for next season...

Well... it's never too late to start setting pods... It looks like more pods are setting on the plants now... nothing worth posting pictures of as they are all still tiny and still might decide to drop from the plant. Main question is... isn't it a bit too late in the season already?

To keep myself a bit busy I have sown my remaining zapotec jalapeΓ±o seeds. The seeds are quite old already, so time for some fresh ones. If they do germinate, I'll keep them inside as a fall/winter grow. I'll post some pics when they start to germinate.

A couple of plant shots to fill up the emptiness of my glog...

They may not be producing a lot but growth is not bad. I moved a couple of plants to another spot to give the others some room...

The Schneider farms SB from Texas Hot Peppers on the left, Papa Dreadie on the right. Of all plants, the Papa Dreadie is the smallest in size but growth is very dense. It has one reasonably sized pod growing currently...

The yellow 7pot brainstrain in the center rear, Schneider farms SB from White Hot Peppers on the left, HSH scotchie center front and the WHP II scotch bonnet on the right. The picture does not do the size of the plants justice, but that 7pot must be about the largest chinense plant I have grown so far...

Great pics @MarcV . The plants look very good, strong stalks & stems with good leaf color.

Looks good to me, August and September are still good months for producing peppers
I totally agree with @ahayastani I get cold sweats in February about BS like. Did I get the seeds started soon enough? Are they going to germinate soon? Day 5 now LOL. πŸ˜„ Which one do I cut? 😲 You get the picture, Just take a deep breath sit back & enjoy the girls growing stronger everyday.

Darn those Hogwarts pack a real punch! I had a small, ripe pod on the plant yesterday, about 1cm large. I ate most of it... it really set me on fire with a serious, sharp tonge burn that lasted quite long. Didn't expect that from such a small pod. I had some family members visiting. They too wanted to taste it. They already freaked out when just touching a sliver of the pepper with their tongue! 😁. I don't understand that just a slight touch can give an immediate strong burning sensation... πŸ€”

I wonder if they are not just a mislabeled scorpion pepper...

The now almost ripe larger one... not for eating fresh from the plant if you ask me...
