I'm no expert but I prefer seed starting mix.

I use the coffee filter method and take them to seed starting mix because regular potting mixes often have fertilizer mixed in. That fertilizer may burn/kill the sprouts.

Thanks Scovie and Phil. Trying not to over think it for the most part, just limited on seeds for a couple of varieties so don't want to screw up.
