It was the darkest I've ever seen the sky get in my life. We were under plant alarm while it blew through. They're saying wind gusts up to 111 MPH, yes, one-hundred eleven, in Metairie.
111mph is nuts. That storm showed a really impressive bow echo on radar. I bet a lot of trees are down as a result of saturated soil. Hopefully damage isn't too bad.
Yeah, there are trees down all over the place. A TRAIN was blown off the tracks on the Huey P. Long Bridge. Which crosses the Miss. River between Avondale and Harahan.
That train video is crazy! Quite a few houses and cars had trees fall on them around here from what I saw on the news. Got another one hitting us right now but thankfully nothing like this mornings cell.
No doubt! We're getting it again, too. Like you, though, not as bad as this morning. And thankfully, none of my plants were damaged! My flag pole was blown down,but no plants! Yay!
