its like 60% religiously driven...you godless heathens.
the old testament mentions something about god creating a flat earth plane and sky, then seperating the sky from the stars with a 'firmament' or some shit. the 40% that are not religious are f**kwits of the same caliber as chem trail folks.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and year

And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upo...

i think the 'firmament' is supposed to be impenetratable as some sort of barrier to heaven. the firmament is supposed to be close to the ground also, as per the tower of babel story.
so if you accept the impenetrable firmament and that its close to the ground, you cannot accept space travel what so ever. so thats why there is so much flat earth focus on space related debunking.

They seem to have 'evolved' from the Moon Loonie crowd - those who think Apollo never reached orbit. They go on to state that rockets can't work in a vacuum, and some even think there is some sort of transparent 'dome' that covers the earth and would prevent rockets from leaving anyway.

And, of course, there are lots of chemtrail and HAARP paranoia cases. All these memes seem to appeal to a borderline subset of the population - I suspect a good psychologist could write a few doctoral theses with the symptoms these folks present.

Looks like many have already heard of these "flat earthers". I love the belief that Antarctica is a 150 foot high ice wall that keeps us from falling off. And NASA is stationed around this ice wall/ring to keep us from going over. I think they stole the ice wall idea from George RR Martin. NASA must be the Knight's Watch protecting us.

Yup. These folks live in a VERY deep Rabbit Hole.

Yep. I "learned" this during the hour or so I read up on flat Earth. Objects down fall, the Earth is rushing up to meet them. The Earth is constantly moving upward at 1 G. I think I read something about electromagnetism as well

Objects don't fall ^

I'll say this: I've taken some recreational meds in my time, but as high as I got back in college, I have never been as high as the people spouting this kind shiz.
