The Hot Pepper

When you order a vegan grilled cheese and they cook it on the flattop at the diner, you know it has bacon and hamburger grease. Also animal products are in adhesives and other things in everyday products. Lard in bread, and you don't get to read the ingredients at restaurants. Sometimes they just have to say "fuck it" or they simply cannot eat or function.

Maybe because it is composted it is allowed. I'm not 100% sure on the laws, the FDA at some point wanted to limit animal manure use.

This vegan that I speak of that I use to work with also bacame a very good friend of mine and I always had to make special dishes for her when she would come over for bbqs (usually mapo dofu, which is an amazing vegan dish) but everytime I tried to ask her more questions on the subject, it usually just left me with more questions so I gave up asking questions and accepted it. Lol

some people get touchy about things they believe in. Vegans tend to get bashed, usually without provocation. I'm always up for a discussion. I'm not a vegan, i have lots of vegan friends and I work with an animal welfare organization that obviously deals with local farmers, local vegans/vegetarians, etc. I try to see it from all sides. I've been berated by vegans too because I have dogs that eat meat based dog food even though I buy super expensive food for them that comes from...

farmers and not factories. Win some Lose some. I try to just be cool to people. high fives all around.

You can never win. I know vegans that feed their dogs vegan diets and they get shit for that too, dogs being direct descendants of wolves, even some vegans believe they should be eating meat.

@THP- because I'm secretely a vegan and want everyone to feel terrible. When I go hunting, I'm really just throwing blocks of tofu in the air and shooting it with a 12 gauge lol. @Rawkstah- I worked in the veterinary field for 12 years and came across quite a few vegans and vegetarians. I pretty much couldn't talk about hunting at work cuz co-workers and clients would probably flip their shit.

I use Open Farm. You can see every farm that the ingredients were sourced from when you put the upc in the website. Kinda neat and my dogs, one allergic to chicken, the other grain sensitive, love this food and they BOTH will eat the same kind. Every 12 bags I get one free!

Acana is good. I feed mine Honest Kitchen. The fish and turkey ones mixed together.

The poultry is all antibiotic-free and the catfish is not farmed. I can't even get that at a restaurant here lol!

Honest Kitchen is a GREAT brand! I buy all their snacks, like the mussels, and fish skins.

I hear ya. My pet food bill every month is a car payment. Lol

Why eat anything alive or anything that a living organism produced...now that seems hypocritical.
