overwintering Overwinter or clones? Which should I do this fall?

well, i could do both. but i think the OW's would be sufficient enough and come back really strong. Then i could start some new strains next year and within a year or two have a nice arsenal of good plants that produce well, without babying a bunch of cuttings, ya know. . .

cloning hydro cloner in bucket to soil?

i'm no expert, but i would think as long as you get a nice root system going it won't matter. When I did some closet gardening many years ago, clones going into soil had to have a nice support system, whereas rockwool, or just plain water and rooting agents could be done in cups, or a vase. . .

overwintering Overwinter or clones? Which should I do this fall?

yeah, i dealt with aphids on both of my OW's this year, and finished them off with Azamax. I think i'm leaning towards OW's. I have the lights, space, etc to do them. oh, and i would probably do them as housplants, mostly. I would want them to rebound after a couple months, put out some...

overwintering Overwinter or clones? Which should I do this fall?

I know it's way early to think about the end of the growing season, but I was wondering what's the concensus on overwintering vs clones? I did two Red Bhut's Jolo's from last year, put them in hanging baskets in a large south-facing window. They're just dying to get back into the ground. I was...

OhioGrown's First Ever Glog 7-18 update, with pics, Pods are coming!!

Ok, I know it's been a while, and I struggled for a little bit with ferts, overwatering, etc, but here's the latest pics and notes from my 2013 grow. This first pic is a tray of Chocolate Habaneros. I was able to repot them out of peat pots, since their roots weren't really growing like they...

    fertilizer Overwatered, or under fertilized?

they are under T5's about 4 inches away. temps stay about 75-80, with a fan going as well.

    fertilizer Overwatered, or under fertilized?

This is one of my Jalapenos, growing in peat pots with Happy Frog Soil, and peat pellets for germination. All of my Jalapenos have roots growing through the bottom of the peat pots. I've never used any ferts so far, just plain water. Bottom watered most of the time. I usually only water when...

    Jalapenos growing flowers already?

yeah, i think i started them too early. by the time they go in the ground, they'll be freaking huge, and full of flowers. will it hurt to keep them on there? or if i pinch them, will they continue to grow bigger...

    water Quick overwatering/fertz question.

Ok, if i'm correct, yellowing from the bottom and working it's way up is ferts. And yellowing all over is overwatering? Just generally speaking, i know there's alot more that goes into determining problems. . .

    Jalapenos growing flowers already?

I have a tray of Jalapenos that are at least a month or so old, and they're all about 6 -8 inches tall, and all of the sudden I notice they're starting to make flowers. Really tiny ones. Is this normal? I expected them to just veg for the next 10 weeks and get all big and dark green. I was going...

    T5 question

hey patrick, my Chocolate Habaneros look just like what you've got going there. Small compact little plants. Except mine are in peat pots.

    T5 question

yeah, all my new seedlings are usually about 6-8 inches away, and once they get 3-4 sets of leaves and get about 4-6 inches tall then i get them within 3 inches or so from the light. i haven't noticed any suntan, except for 1 or 2 out of 30+ plants so far.

    T5 question

thanks for the reply jamison, i appreciate all your help. i've gone to just watering my plants, no ferts for now. and we'll see how things turn out by next weekend or so.

    T5 question

how far away from the lights should my plants be? I was told in another thread 8-10 inches (thanks Patrick), and i was just wondering what's everyone's opinion. My shelves only allow for about 4-6 inches depending on the plant's height. So maybe i need to hang the lights some other way to get...

health Some help please, yellowing leaves, spots, etc.

i believe you Jamison. i just know Happy Frog makes alot of soils with the n-p-k listed, and there's none on the potting soil i bought, so i thought it might not have much to it. I'll try and just water them normally after an h202 spray, and see how things do. thanks patrick and jamison. i...

health Some help please, yellowing leaves, spots, etc.

i didn't start fertilizing until they had at least a couple sets of true leaves. i started with Florablend Vegan Plant Booster, which is supposed to be like an AACT, it's .5-1-1 and i only used a couple teaspoons per gallon and i only used it a couple of times in the last 3-5 weeks. then they...

i wasn't planning on repotting them, just putting them in the ground in may. maybe i should repot them?

health Some help please, yellowing leaves, spots, etc.

i have an oscillating fan that hits them all day, and the Happy Frog is just the potting soil, as far as i know it doesn't have ferts in it, but i could be wrong. with the h2o2, should i foilar spray them with that?

health Some help please, yellowing leaves, spots, etc.

so some of my Trinidad Scorpions are being a little difficult. I have most of them in peat pots, Happy Frog soil, and i switched to a new fertilizer, Fish Fertilizer, by Alaska. It's 5-1-1 and they seem to be recovering a little bit. Here's a picture of the two best ones I have: and here's a...
