    Death Strain

I think it's cool that people are trying to grow ever hotter chillies but the whole secrecy thing is just bullshit. Share what you have once you have stabilised it, be transparent and honest or don't bother. This whole crap of "I have this 50million SHU Pepper but don't feel like releasing...

    Homemade pepper extract

Could you re soak it in alcohol and let it reduce down again? I would think this should sterilise it. Or you may be able to get it tested to determine the shelf life.

IME tomatoes (and chillies for that matter) develop MORE flavour a few days after picking. AJdrew +1 on mortgage lifter! Also pink brandywine is just as big and tasty.

First Yellow Leaf to appear on Ghost

Totally normal all leaves only last for so long. You will begin to notice that more and more leaves will turn yellow and drop off. If you keep your plant out over winter in a region that gets cold the whole plant may go yellow and growth will grind to a halt. Wait for it to warm up again and...

chinense Origin of Peach Bhut Jolokia

Haha all good I still learned something! Just makes me more curious though.. where is the Peach ghost from????! If it does descend from the JPGS that would explain the major difference in flavour between the red and Peach ghosts.

chinense Origin of Peach Bhut Jolokia

Thanks for the info JoynersHotPeppers, I hadn't even thought of the JPGS strain! I grew the Pepperlover Peach Ghost Select so this is what got me wandering about the history. Is it possible that all peach ghosts are descended from the JPGS??

    White Hot Peppers 2017

Have you tried making a mesh box underneath your garden say, two feet deep then up the sides then out of the ground a bit.. then they couldn't dig their way in. People do this in Oz to keep snakes away from chooks..

chinense Origin of Peach Bhut Jolokia

Thanks guys. I have sent Ajijoe a pm asking if he has any info but I don't know if he's still an active member or not. Looked up meadow view farms and that site doesn't say anything about chillies. Yeah I wanna know it's a cross or just popped up..

The Nagabrains I grew (can't remember if I got seed from you or from Justin White) looked similar to your pic but a bit wider at the shoulders and deeper folds. They really are great though, the taste is savoury to me. My wife made fresh basil and Nagabrain pesto last season and it was amazing...

dried Chili Rayado from La Misión in the state of Hidalgo

Is it possible that the same name is used to describe a number of different chillies? There may be different strains named 'chilli Rayado' depending which region or village. Especially if the name actually describes the look because there are plenty of Jalapeño strains that match the description.

My wife hated fresh tomatoes, she'd only ever had bought ones from supermarkets. Then I grew them fresh and she loves them.. at least in Oz it's common knowledge that bought tomatoes are sh!t. They are like rubber.
