    Sulsa's 2022 grow log

Pretty much all the peppers are loading up nicely The annuums The baccatums are really productive, sadly the color of the aji mango and lemon drops are the exact same color as the leaves and are well hidden under the foliage. Impossible to make a picture to show the huge amount of pods hiding...

2022 - too early to get started...

Those O.W. are looking great, so does the color on that tasmanian. My O.W. Adjuma has the same issue as your papa dreadie, lots of flowers but hardly any fruit. The hab red that overwintered is producing scary amounts of pods though! 🙂

Hi Maximus, Those sure look totally different than "normal" cayenne indeed. Just went out to take some real time pics, first are the possible cross and the second a bit more true to pheno.

Last year i bought some Frutescens seeds that did quite well. I don't know what variety it is exactly... I bought it as Chabai green curry. Chabai is the indonesian pronuncation of the cabe peppers as far as i know. They do make a great green curry though. When ripened to red they become very...

disease Leaf curling and chlorosis on my habanero

The roots should look more white almost like fungi, especially in young plants like you have. I think your plants were watered too much and that might have caused some rootrot. Had the same with one plant this year, same symptons as you are describing. First picture from a healthy transplant and...

    SineNomine 2022

Some are more susceptible to it than others. Last year my open ground dulce de espagna had this a lot and the kapia right next to it had none. I did notice it appeared most often after some stressing like after they wilted from too much heat, irregular or overwatering.

Phytophthora capsici? Check the root system and see if the roots look healthy and white. If the roots look yellow or brownish it probably is Phytophthora capsici

Gnarly pods sound good to me! :D Hopefully the wind turning west will push the heat away or else we will have high heat and high humidity. I personally like these kind of temperatures as long as the humidity is low.

I don't have enough shaded places for all of my plants, the little shade i have is reserved for the rocotos cause they seem to suffer the most. For next year i might change some things in the garden so i will be able to use some shade cloth on days like this. Some rain would be welcome for sure...

Most of it will be processed and consumed within my household, i do give some away ofcourse. I'm used to proces lots of veggies from my vegetable garden so the peppers just add to that. I freeze much whole, chopped up into chunks or mashed. I dry and smokedry some. Also lots of canning like...

    Sulsa's 2022 grow log

I'm a big fan of piquillo peppers they don't have any heat but have a very distinct creamy and rich flavor. Besides that they are very juicy and thickwalled. Only downside is they have tough skin so you have to remove this prior to cooking. I've been using them for ages and used to buy them...
