is this insect a good guy or a bad guy?

I agree with solid7, long-legged fly, pics here: https://bugguide.net/index.php?q=search&keys=Long-legged+fly&search=Search From Wikipedia, "The adults are predators, feeding on small invertebrates including Collembola, aphids, and the larvae of Oligochaeta. Species of the genus Dolichopus...

for-sale Hot pepper fudge for sale

Lava Bar hot pepper candy is back in stock, maple flavor only. This batch is soft and smooth; it won't turn hard and crumbly like some of the earlier batches. There are two versions, one with medium heat, as before, and one with no detectable heat at all (for the non-chiliheads in your life.)...

Ah, thank you, I see that now, but it gives me this message, "Because of your browser security settings, the editor is not able to access your clipboard data directly. You are required to paste it again in this window." However, the button right next to it opens a window to "paste as plain...

Don't wait too long. You don't want a bunch of armadillos hatching out there.

Yes, that last bit is good practice regardless. And for anyone who didn't see the referenced post, or the original xkcd: https://xkcd.com/327/  I've tried a couple of times, unsuccessfully, to get buffalo grass established on my place. Descriptions read like it's an ideal drought resistant...

Effing weird. I forget exactly how he/she spells it, but the user whose name reads as "you know" in leet uses the < symbol as part of the "k". I think I saw somewhere he/she posted about having a similar missing text problem with his/her name.

    pests Pest Identification PLEASE

This seems unlikely, but I'll just throw it out there. Maybe a cicada crawls on the leaf creating a tear that then becomes what you see as the leaf grows.

If I hadn't been a little frustrated and short on time, I would have looked at the html for extraneous code. It's obviously not simply the phrase NMSU CPI, since I was able to use that up above and here. I had a previous issue, where my post would post, but only part of it. I tracked that...

    Sawyer 2019

While I was tending plants today, I had a visit from a green speckled kingsnake. Posssibly my favorite species of snake, and the only one that's ever bitten me.

Just checking to see if I can still post. Messenger isn't working for me. Edit: Well that works. Anyone know what's up with messenger? Edit #2: I got messenger to work by removing NMSU CPI from the text. Weird.

The Spiranthes are volunteer natives. I had/have a similar situation with daffodils. Things are growing all over the place. I potted a bunch up one year and sold them when they bloomed.

    Sawyer 2019

I have multiple species of Ladies' Tresses orchids (genus Spiranthes) growing in my yard that I would never have known about if I maintained a postage stamp lawn. There is a sufficiently thick tree and shrub barrier along the highway frontage that the casual passerby is unlikely to be offended...

I was going to mow last year, but the throttle cable on my lawnmower broke. I attended a water quality seminar yesterday and it turns out that no- and low-maintenance lawns are all the big "new" thing now. I was just ahead of my. Or way behind...

I HATE IT WHEN STUFF GOES TO HELL BEFORE IT SHOULD!

How old are the tires? I had the same thing happen to a set of Michelins on my truck. Tread still looks almost new, but the tires are 20 years old.

No worries, it pads my replies count. Grasses are tough. I've learned most of the grasses in my yard are alien species, so I'm just going to dig it all up and grow peppers (and other edibles.)
