    Light Question

Agreed, but A. I need them only until second pot-up, not continually, and B. I am working with shelving, so the HIDs will miss 70% or more, Willard

Last plant looks great! What about cuphooks in the ceiling to raise the panel?

    Light Question

Yep, looks yoo nanny mouse. I read Omri's 101 on lighting which stated that LEDs are a good option, but not the best, and was hoping someone who has used them might confirm either way. Their inconsistency will be a big problem out here too - we get the leftovers from Europe and our technology...

Thanks Hydro - That's pretty much what I have used from the beginning. I'm looking for LED suggestions, however...

    Light Question

I live in a hot area, so indoor lighting is only to take seedlings to first transplant after which they will live outside - I'm just kick-starting Spring I guess. I have seedling trays on shelving, which prevents the use of MH and similar lighting, and I have used normal shop fluorescent tubing...

    Stevia sweetener.

I bought a packet of seeds from our local supplier but not a single one germinated. I was advised to try seedlings but no-one here does them sadly... Hope you guys have better luck!

tutorial Beginner's guide to AACT/Compost Tea

I wasn't very clear - I'd already made my batch weeks ago when I came upon this thread, so many of the ingredients are different, though the concept is the same. My main ingredient was comfry leaf, so I might just toss this batch onto the compost heaps as a macrobiotic generator and start anew...

tutorial Beginner's guide to AACT/Compost Tea

Very nice article and a useful thread - I've only read the first three pages, and wonder if I will later find out how long it will keep... I have just finished making an eight-week batch and have 13l (3.5gal) available, and my seedlings have only just started hooking!

    ID this pepper...?

I'm well aware of the difficulty of providing an ID off a picture. I received this from an unknown source, thinking it was something entirely different. The fruit is the size of a golf ball and has a strange shape and a slightly rough texture. I planted it late in the season, so have not had...

    vendor pepperlover.com

I ordered in November and the envelope never arrived at my home in darkest Africa. I made this known to Judy after the Christmas rush and she promptly repacked and resent everything. My seeds arrived safely a day or so ago! While I never received any free seeds, neither was I promised any, and...

@ gumbii Those were beautiful animals! My condolences... Lousy part is we get attached to them, unlike our chili plants, so their loss is harsh!

    Huntsman's season 2011-2012

Thanks chilliover - It has a very select readership, but wtf... :drunk: We're starting to get ripening pods now... This Malagueta is a great way to start any meal... The plants in the veg patch are also starting to grow into their rightful places.....next series of pics should have...

Could my hots and superhots be allergic to me?!!

I have found the cause... I spend too much time in forums asking questions, and too little experimenting.

Could my hots and superhots be allergic to me?!!

These are definitely not root bound.....the pot is the correct size for two more months at least. BTW, I have not added bone meal, and have no idea what the ph is. Local gadgets don't give an accurate reading.

Could my hots and superhots be allergic to me?!!

Potting mix is 50% potting soil, 40% compost, 5% perlite, 5% river sand and I have them in 12" diameter plastic pots. Generally, they get sun from 08h00 to around 16h00, and are watered every four days or so, but we have had strong rains recently, and their soil is moist. Ferts are chicken and...
