    misc Question about hardening off.

One thing I have noticed since I started using UV lamps is that they seem quite a bit more tolerant to that first exposure to natural sunlight.

Paul, Thanks. They do seem to be quite robust this year. I may have finally hit upon a good combination of lighting and soil medium. I actually believe I should have waited another month before starting them, because they are already getting root bound and making peppers. Don't know if I...

off-topic Good Mornin' Thread - For those that get up really early and post

45°, heading for mid 60°. Looks like 70°s until midweek, then back to the 50°s for next weekend. Less than a month and a half until plant out.

misc It's not a pod! FFS

I always thought it was '7 pot', because it was said that one pepper would be enough to season 7 pots of stew?

misc It's not a pod! FFS

Technically correct, but the alliterative properties of the phrase 'pepper pods' is much more appealing. I would expect people to not use the term banana berry or pumpkin berry or watermelon berry, even though those are also technically correct. Also, most commonly named "berries", e.g...

    misc Question about hardening off.

I typically start the harden off process about a week before plant out. One I place them outside to harden off, they do not come back indoors.

organic Wakefield Compost + Biochar with Mycorrhizal Fungi Organic Soil Conditioner Blend

    Looks interesting, but expensive. My raised bed @ 4 x 36 feet would take ~148 gallons @ $5.97/gal at Walmart = $883.

lighting What's the best lighting for indoor

It really depends on how many plants, how much space you have, your budget, are you just starting plants indoors before moving them outside or are you wanting start-to-finish growing, perhaps overwintering outdoor container plants, and probably some other factors...

Thanks. Good soil, good light, and quality seeds equals success. All I do is water them, nature does the rest.

Yes, unfortunately I only have limited space and I always start way too many. By plant-out at the end of May, I will need to start giving some away to make room.

    lighting New fixture

Been trying different lamps and layout. Picked up the https://www.amazon.com/Wavepoint-Universal-Replacement-Aquarium-54-watt/dp/B00FQ87DO2 for $17 and change, must have been mislabeled. Photone app readings, Daylight Fluorescent setting; 12 inches down and centered, all lamps on: PPFD =...
