I used some store bought worm castings.  These are coming out of it now.  I have pulled about 10 so far.  Any idea what they are?

So I had a pretty good start last year, that failed once I went in ground.  Did I go out too early, not harden enough, have bad soil at my new house, or a combo of the above?  Who knows, but Hurricane Matthew didn't help I am sure!  Ironically, I still have pods on plants.  A few might make it...

I am glad they turned out well!  I should have a nice batch of plants available this year as well.  As you see, I am starting earlier this year.  I should have nicely sized plants available around April.

I am just looking for a safe way to try to give myself a slight edge above nature.  Ok more than slight, as I start seeds under grow lights, use fertilizer, hydroponics, etc.    Planting directly into worm castings is indeed bad advice.  I could tell that just looking at it for the first time...

  They went in a few hours ago.   Trying 2 methods of propagation on many of my seeds.  Both use a very mild peroxide solution.  Top is just sitting in wet perlite.  Bottom is the paper towel method.

3 ppm standards actually, but yes I did.  The conversion factors from uS/cm to ppm are 0.5, 0.64, and 0.70.  So if my meter was reading 3900 EC that would correspond to 1950, 2496, or 2730.  The old meter ran much lower than any of those.

So I finally am getting my hydro up and going. I mix up some ferts from DIY salts. I am weighing on a 0.01g scale, so I should be pretty accurate. I make my ferts in a 2 part, 1:32 ratio spread across 2 gallon jugs. So 1/2c of A, and 1/2c of B to mix 1 gallon of ferts. I ensure they dissolve...
