    CaneDog - Off-Season Season 2018/19

Those 3 Aji Ayuyo hooks at once. That's gotta make you happy. I just caught up on 2 pages. The pods look great. I just started WM Peach Bhut, and I'm anxious for them too.   Hey 'Dog what's this term PED?

I guess that would probably work better for shelling them.     I've read Blister's thread before, it just wasn't fresh in my mind. I'm following this one. Your plan sounds good. Looking forward to the updates. Best of luck to you.

    Cayenne Coco Coir Experiment Glog

I would prefer the coarse long-fiber coco. I think it has superior properties, except for maybe its usefulness in removing seed coats. Since the particle size is greater, so is the pore size, and it retains a more airy structure than the fines. I think it would do much better under a steady drip...

CFL is cheap/efficient. I got 4 daylight bulbs ~$14 and put them in an existing vanity light fixture over a bathroom mirror. The plants are on a shelf below.

    Lets talk about fans

I'm using a box fan on low about 6 feet away from my mature plants. I've read posts that some growers do ~15mph wind speed  but i say "shake it don't break it."   The clip fan should be enough for for 2x4 table of seedlings. I position mine on the side, as opposed to blowing down on them.

Yes, that's a good point. Transpiration stops at night. So, they don't need fresh air exchange.

Yikes! That sux about the fly problem. The squash looks good, and that radish is wacky. The spinach has grown really big, but is it bolting?

Welcome to the forum. Your garden area looks very organized and well tended.

    Lets talk about fans

I use a 6" clip fan on low setting pointed at them about a foot away. A little air movement strengthens the stems. It also causes the plants to use water faster. It can help keep the top of your starter soil from staying wet (risk of damping off and fungus gnats).
