contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

Looks like we have a winner!  I think I might already have some Y.B.S. seeds from P.L.    If so, I'll start soaking them in the nitroglycerin when I get home from work today!

contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

Yea, I've heard this from a lot of people.  The Fataliis I've grown, particularly the red variety, seem much hotter than the raw SHU would indicate.

IMO, YBS tastes vastly better than Fatalii. I think you'll like 'em.

contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

:D   Well...  I'd prefer a big baccatum or annuum pod, maybe one of those crazy mid-east varieties from Pepperlover.  But stupid-hot works too!  :)

contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

Looks like the resident Pepperheads are going with "Mo Hottah, Mo Bettah!" this year.  Since I already have a 3rd year Fatalii, I I'll vote for the YELLOW BRAIN STRAIN !!

Thanks for organizing this again. I'd be happy to PP a few $ to offset costs.

    What's up with the weather?

It's official.  Arizona's winter had been canceled!!   Turkey Day will tickle 90.  After that the long term forecast calls for 80f/50f until Easter, at which time summer's 'standard' 110/80 will return.   :onfire:     Fall?  We don't need no stinkin' Fall!!

Moved to Guadalajara, Mexico. What should I expect from my grow?

Yea, the climate looks nearly ideal!  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guadalajara#Climate Your typical winter lows will slow the plants down but won't really stress them much.   The summer rains do look a little heavy.  Make sure your garden bed is well drained, and that there is good airflow...

contest Growdown Throwdown 2017 Aji Lemon Drop!

After a rather awful season, the first three Aji Limon pods of the season have ripened!!     This brings my total to a whopping 4.3 grams!

    Most flavorful peppers?

Not yet mentioned is Pepperlover's Naranja Picante. They really do have an nice orange flavor, and are on the hot side (for a baccatum).  When cooking, they go great with Asian food, chicken, etc.    Another PL favorite is Aji Cereza.  Taste is as advertised, sweet with a strong berry-ish (don't...

    Looking for Psychology term

In other words, a chronic bullshitter.     Yea, you'd think someone would come up with a specific clinical term. "Psychopath" is IMO too broad - they have many more "symptoms" other than a simple inability to tell the truth.

    Stetto's First Winter Grow ('16-'17)

Eric, I really don't know what's up with the anomalous chill that threatens your plants.  One can only surmise that you are living on the edge of some sort of inter-dimensional vortex, one that is sucking the heat out of your plants, and possibly the immortal soul from your soon-to-be-frozen...

Was it I that send Fatali seeds?  That pod looks mighty close.  Mine tend to have a slightly more lumpy pod wall, but yours are well within the "spec" limit.   Speaking of Red Fatalii pods...   I took half a dozen to work, along with Tepins, 267, Aji Peruvian, and other warm-but-not stupid...

Excellent work, Eric!  :)         You call that a stinger?  That's puny!!!  The pepper really can't be all that hot.  Give it a chomp, ya wimp!   :hi:

    NuMex varieties?

Greatly enjoyed the 6-4 Heritage from Sandia Seeds. Lumbre are indeed quite toasty, and make good cooking peppers. Most of my other NuMex efforts have failed due to adverse weather, bugs, or (and?) just plain inept gardening technique.  :/

    Stetto's First Winter Grow ('16-'17)

Haha!!   Here in Aridzona, the pods tend to shrivel once they pass the 'creamsicle' phase, so I pick them.  Your doesn't-feel-like-hell-in-October climate may well allow them to ripen further w/o worry.     Yea, I really like the things.  Good flavor and enough heat for my liking.  Add a few...
