The hottest pods of these are similar. Hard to discern exactly what it is, but the flavor is a little different, I think these are sweeter.

An Italian grower sent me seeds on this a couple years ago when it was f2. I've been growing it since. This is the first pod, formed while the plant was still inside. It's not as big or as hot as they typically get, but was extremely hot still. Also had a nice flavor. Here's a pic of some from...

Some Hogsweed pods I picked off my office plant yesterday. It wasn't the hottest of the hogsweed I've tried, but heat was decent and flavor was real good, sweet.

Yes, that is what they are for. They are just pieces cut from straws and work great. I got the idea from someone here. I can't remember his name right off hand.

This is my goto method for treating aphids, mainly needed for indoor plants that get infested. Outdoor plants seem to do ok on their own with natural predators keeping aphids in check.   https://youtu.be/ztFHkwRFQX0

I don't know if it's the same thing, or what causes it. But I've seen similar issues before on early pods with some plants. In the few cases I've seen, it cleared up once the plants got going well.
