Float valve controlled Kratky-like system - DIY

This system is growing Holy Basil but could be used for peppers. It's kind of a hybrid Kratky system. Once the nutrient level drops to a set point, the float valve will maintain that level. This will prevent drowning the roots on refills. The idea for this came from Matt Garver (Deeproots on here) and B.A. Kratky. Instead of using a separate controller bucket, I placed the float valve in the same container as the plants. I added a separation barrier to prevent the roots from interfering with the float valve. The reservoir is a 5-gallon bucket. I'll post updates on how this does over the coming weeks.

Here's an update on this system. I grew Holy Basil in it, but it could be used for peppers too.
