    Superhot Flavor Profiles

When I was a kid, I thought that cilantro tasted like soap, and I hated it. I avoided it for years but, by my late twenties, I found that it no longer tastes soapy to me, and I've been in love with it ever since. I never picked up soapy notes from even the situation supermarket Habs, but I have...

    annuum Zapotec Jalapenos

Generally speaking, I feel like yellow chiles simply taste better than red chiles, all other things being equal or at least similar. So I'm not surprised, Idaho Lewis, that you loved the NuMex Lemon Spice so much... I'm open to the idea of growing the various NuMex "Spice" series of...

    Anyone grown these?

I've been wanting to grow these things but in a bit nervous bc it's my understanding that they're not exactly hardy nor productive. They come in a yellow (Amarillo) and a red (rojo) version. These things got plenty of uses, but I think their most famous purpose is for molé... I want to grow...

Do Bushy Plants Retard Pepper Maturity?

This is pretty much exactly how it has happened for me, all three years that I've grown. In my climate, with my planting schedule and growing techniques, basically i spend June and early July stalking my plants, hoping for a glimmer of route colors, waiting and obsessing everyday for the slow...

    Fruitful Day

Jajaja, as you know, I LOVE Zapotecs. Hands down, my favorite Jalapeños. There's a million other chiles I love. There's been very few I didn't like. . . But, of I had to choose between Yella Bonnets and alllllll the others, I'd give up the Zapotecs, the Nagas, the Serranos, all of'm... But I...

Created My First Super Hot Strain, Help Me Name It :)

Yes, they look rad and sound interesting in the description. I'd keep selecting for desired traits and have a go at fixing the strain.

Created My First Super Hot Strain, Help Me Name It :)

Yeah and considering that this cross isn't even actually four years old, we know that this thang ain't stable

Created My First Super Hot Strain, Help Me Name It :)

It theoretically takes 8 generations to stabilize a new strain. Doing that in four years isn't impossible, but it would be very difficult.

Yeah, Semillas is tops, in my book. Peter M is a member here, too.

harvesting Should I harvest this pepper?

Well, it ain't ripe if it's green, in this case. But you can absolutely eat it when it's green, if you like

I've ordered from Semilla's three years in a row; never had a problem.

hybrid Eating mysterious peppers and my own words. (A rant on crossed seeds)

I'm not going to buy seeds from a vendor that I know has burnt customers in the past. Especially when there are so many reputable vendors out there, many of whom I have already placed successful orders with. I do want to grow some of those og-style scorpions, though. . . They just look killer...

    How long does it take..?

A critter ate a hole in that pod. I have lost more peppers to that kinda damage this year than ever before. Thankfully, I've also grown more peppers this year than ever before... My top suspect is earwigs, but it could be something else... Definitely a decent-sized insect or similar arthropod
