  My soil temps using a soil thermometer and I was getting core readings around 90 degrees after the plants had been bottom watered.   First time I didn't need to use a heat mat to get the seeds to germinate.  I'm having really good success using just the T5HO 4-Bulb lighting system.

Plants need a minimum of 2000 lumens/sqft to survive and grow...or at least all of the literature I have read indicated such.     The light wouldn't be an issue for the plants, but the heat of the bulbs is what can hurt a plant.   Just make sure the temperatures are not exceeding far above 100...
