I am glad to see some people are having better luck germinating these guys than I did. I contacted him about replacement seeds, and he said he sent them right away after the email conversation.... 4 weeks later I am hoping the dang post office hasn't lost them :(   (the post office here has lost...

KiNGDeNNiZ's 2013 still with a few healthy plants and pods

If he ever comes over to lancaster, in the next week or so, I am sure I could spare a couple plants, but they would be small, desert blasted wind warriors....lol

My pleasure on the plants etc. Just paying it forward a little ;) Yeah, our weather has been pretty odd this year han't it? We are trying to finish up those 2 unplanted garden areas while the temps are a little cooler. It was cool to meet up with you the other day too. How's your garden space...

I think it was the wind, and then high temps, and then smokey air from the fire, right after I planted out. Weird thing was that only the 2 strains were affected, the Red Bhuts from Meinchoh all look good. Possibly could have been grasshoppers, but I think they would have went for all 3...

DesertChris' High Desert Extreme Gardening Glog

I figure probably around 1,100 plants or so right now....a few more seedlings popping, making up for some of the plant losses. Not a real big deal, since I have so many for exactly this reason. The desert is a harsh place, and the #'s make up for it ;) Your weather sounds much better!! We...

Yep, that is definately the one downside of it....and here it is heat and wind..... and rabbits and squirrels...lol     Yep, everything is ok here. Fire is pretty much out :) Peppers seem to be in a stalled growth time. So not much going on there. The Red Bhut Garden is interesting. 3 strains...

Luckily, the leading edge of the fire is maybe 10 miles west of us, and was heading north....the firefighters have it 40% contained now. Thank goodness the wind was from the south, and not the usual wind from the west, or it would have been aimed right at us. Mainly for us it is the smoke in the...

So, now it is Hot, Windy, and the fire is 10 miles West of us..... Ash bits in the yard, but not too much.... Edge of the smoke layer is right above us. We went in town to the relatives and went swimming and BBQ'd food and had fun instead of sitting around breathing the fire's smoke...lol  ...

I figure we are pretty safe here, but it is way too smokey.. probably hide inside most of the day. I sure hope the North doesn't burn. I love it up there.

OK, that stupid powerhouse fire is way too close....smoke is filling the valley here. Not too worried about it getting here, but south of us, who knows.... It went from 3600 to 19500 acres yesterday. And they doubled the # of firefighters.... And yes, it is windy still....
