OK, here is the excitement of the month. Finished garden #4 {For sprawling plants like melons, squashes, pumpkins etc...) Kids and my gal all helped plant the seedlings... it took a few hours...... Looked great after a couple days :) Then...... the 3 goats.... busted into the back area ...

    If he ever comes over to lancaster, in the next week or so, I am sure I could spare a couple plants, but they would be small, desert blasted wind warriors....lol

Things are going pretty good, and settling down finally. Also, finally cooled down to the 90's, so I am able to work on finishing up garden #4 (for sprawling plants), then I will finish garden #2 {for the chinense pepper varieties :) ) Hopefully I will set aside some time soon, to catch up on...

I think it was the wind, and then high temps, and then smokey air from the fire, right after I planted out. Weird thing was that only the 2 strains were affected, the Red Bhuts from Meinchoh all look good. Possibly could have been grasshoppers, but I think they would have went for all 3...

Luckily, the leading edge of the fire is maybe 10 miles west of us, and was heading north....the firefighters have it 40% contained now. So, now it is Hot, Windy, and the fire is 10 miles West of us..... Ash bits in the yard, but not too much.... Edge of the smoke layer is right above us. We went in town to the relatives and went swimming and BBQ'd food and had fun instead of sitting around breathing the fire's smoke...lol  ...

I figure we are pretty safe here, but it is way too smokey.. probably hide inside most of the day. I sure hope the North doesn't burn. I love it up there.

OK, that stupid powerhouse fire is way too close....smoke is filling the valley here. Not too worried about it getting here, but south of us, who knows.... It went from 3600 to 19500 acres yesterday. And they doubled the # of firefighters.... And yes, it is windy still....
