    organic Organics 101

I probably wasn't very clear with my question. My thought would be to add compost to my already established raised beds, maybe 4-5 weeks prior to plant out, working the compost into the top 4-5", not to fill the beds from the bottom up. Frankly, I'm a bit confused about the payoff to going to...

Sadly, I have not had a chance to crack any of these opens. Boss lady says I can't open any new ones until I finish the ones I already have open in the fridge :-(   My buddies and I are planning on getting together and doing reviews for ya though!

    vendor Lucky Dog Hot Sauce

Been meaning to get this posted. Before I went to the US earlier this month, I got in touch with LDHS and he hooked me and my buddies up with a crate of sauce! Lovely, lovely bottles! Even threw in an extra bottle of the Brown Label for a total of 13 bottles ;-) You rock Scott!

I have my heat treated baking soda. ph strips show it to be about 11 or 12, which is just right. next step is to make some dough.

    Bone meal...better options?

Organic snobs have a strange barometer. Refuse from animal processing is bad, refuse from seafood processing is good. Most rely heavily on kelp products, but choose to ignore the clear cutting of kelp fields as an issue. Processing some rocks into soil supplements is bad, but some rocks are...

Advise growing Kale/Collard/broccoli in the summer.

the kale probably won't bolt until the following year, but doesn't hurt to choose heat tolerant variety. kale does become bitter, but I'm sure you can handle it. during the summers I normally use mine in smoothies.

    Bone meal...better options?

I am using bone meal. it also doubles as a source of potassium or phosphorus, one of the two. Not heard of kelp meal for calcium, but could work. My soil this year was crab meal, bone meal, kelp meal, neem meal, aged cow poopoo and compost. everything is peachy. I say give any amendment about...

chinense The best tasting non-hot C.chinense ever - The Aji jobito

did you see the pics of the import form? I'm assuming the info there says everything is going to Joe Delaney, who will then send everything out from the US. Probably more reliable than getting everything in the mail through Venezuela post. could you please confirm my guess? thanks! and actually...
