With my sandy soil and low rainfall the last few years I've noticed most of the Roma-type tomatoes have been prone to BER. The variety that seemed to have the fewest problems in that area was the Speckled Roman. I may end up foliar feeding with Calcium like you do Scott... what do you use, and...

    2018 - The Farm

At the scale you're growing, can you afford to skip the soil test? You could take a random sampling of the entire field and just get one test done for $30. That would be better than having to guess when you start talking about pounds per acre. Boy, things sure move fast here... keep up the good...

    Chilidude season 2018

I think that's just an indicator that your plants are finally getting enough light to support axillary growth. Under my grow-light setup the axillary buds formed very quickly, but didn't start to grow out until the leaf canopy grew large enough to support the effort. Your plants seem to have...

    Chilidude season 2018

I find that mixing in a wheelbarrow or mortar tub with a hoe is quicker and easier. I used to be a Mason's tender, and that's how I mixed the sand and cement for mortar. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Glad to hear you're getting better color and shorter internodal length. You must have cooler temps in your grow area than I do since mine have a bit longer length. The eye Hortalux people say that a 50/50 mix with 6500k bulbs is good for an 18 on/6 off light schedule, but if you go with all...

    TBG's First Chilli Blitz! (2017-18)

Ditto! If you're not afraid of work, you'll do well no doubt. I hope you keep your hand in with a few potted plants while you're in university... it's a grounding activity I find. Cheers! Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

    Tridents - Fifth Season Bonnets/Hybrids 2018

Up-pots are looking stellar John! How much longer 'til they hit the dirt, or are you gonna keep them potted up in your pop-up cloche? Great news that you'll be retiring soon! We won't be anytime soon unless I hit the lottery. We're 8 years into a 30-year mortgage on our energy efficient house...

    Stickman's 2018 Soil Mineralization Glog

Hi folks, I was able to expand a bit when my Wife and I set up a few more shelves for seed starting last weekend, but I've already used up the new space for herbs, eggplants and tomatoes. I'm seeing the first tomatoes sprouting now... Pink Brandywine, Early Girl, Yellow Pear and Black Vernissage...

Ah... see, the thing about Indeterminate tomatoes is that they'll put out a sucker at every node and each sucker will become another stem. The trick is to pick your ideal number of stems... I'd say no more than three but you pick your own number... and just keep removing suckers as they pop out...

Hope this'll be helpful with figuring out suckering your 'maters.I usually start suckering when the plants are about as tall as the fellow shows in the vid. He mentions some don't seen to grow well for him... I'd check and see if there's something chewing on the roots like Crickets or Grubs.

Stetto-grow 2018: Takin' another run at it.

Was that plant in one corner of the tray? It looks like it was in the lowest point.

Haw! If you really want revenge, take his coat and long-johns too!   Yup, that's definitely edema due to over-watering. The underside of the leaf feels a bit sandy right? Like the sleep sand in the corners of your eyes in the morning?

Too right Eric! If I can get my hands on the guy who placed the weather order for spring this year it won't be pretty! [emoji1015][emoji879][emoji378] Thanks for the O.B. report... all looking good so far. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk

Ool... how the heck did you get Broad Mites in Michigan?!! I thought they died off during the winter there.    Those things are bad juju for sure.

    Buncha Malarky 2018 edition

Except for the snow, it's looking good Matt. I "liked" your snow pic just so I could un-like it... lol! Cool that you're still making sauces with last season's harvest. Keep up the good work!
