Maybe you could tell her it's some kind of Oriental Aphrodisiac Love Pepper. Might get away with it for as long as there are ripe peppers on the plant. But what the heck, you got the plant without any problems. Right. That or just give it a funny name, that sometimes works too.

Marigolds...I actually think these are the mostest ugliest flowering plants there are, BUT..every year I buy a 6 pack of them at the local nursery and plant them in pots and place them thru out my cactus and vegetable plants, thinking they will control the bugs. Guess I'm a believer !!!

Don't you think it would be a little early to be seeing reaper pods sold now with all the hoopla that went over with the $$ for the seeds they sold. How many seeds in a pod ? Bet these aren't sold till you start seeing people here selling them next spring at the earliest.

But still would have to isolate the flowers to keep from cross breeding, right? In other words you basicly have just a plant like you started with? And thanks for the reply...

Newbie question about this cloning. Hopefully not too tupid. What do the pods end up looking like on the plant when it matures? Are they exactly the same as those that grew from the plant being cloned? Do they need to be isolated as well to grow the same pods as before? Or will they cross...

I really don't have a fantasy pepper cross, but I asked my Butch T and he said his would look be this...hehe...sorry, no pun intended towards your thread

I'd say cover it and put as close to your house as possible. The warmth from the house may make it better. Uncover the next day and start over with covering the next night if needed. Gotta try something if can't get it indoors. That or cut it back to the pods and try growing in house...

Some of the problems with the water issue could just be the build up of the minerals in the soil if growing in pots like 5 gallon pails from the problem of lack of proper drainage. And that goes for plants in ground as well. Over a period of time one just normally waters plants till they think...
