    Windchicken's 2019 NOT a glog...

Hey Scott!!! Wow, I feel like I just walked into a reunion of dear old friends!!! How's it been going down there? I always admired your garden, and I always envied your sweet shade canopy!!! I bought several really big sheets of 30% Aluminet cloth a couple years ago, but I never got around to...

    Windchicken's 2019 NOT a glog...

Wow, Rick!!! Yeah, it's definitely been a while! I think you were probably the very first guy I shared seeds with on THP, WAY back in the day!    It's really good to hear from you again, after all this time! I'm looking forward to watching the progress of your garden this year...Much luck and...

    Windchicken's 2019 NOT a glog...

It's so good to hear from ya Eric, and thanks so much for the kind words! My only concern about the success of the big DeSoto Parish garden this year is damage from the feral hogs and/or the new German Shepard/Catahoula Cur puppies we have here at the company yard. My old hog fence is looking...

    Windchicken's 2019 NOT a glog...

The last few years that I've started a glog I have failed to maintain the thing, and I end up feeling bad about it. But I do want to share with y'all this short video of my plants in the shade tent last Saturday (April 27), just before we put them in the beds. There are 69 Capsicum chinense...

    Piment Bouc

Excellent plan! Maybe you could try visiting with Carline Phanor, who makes the Men Pa'w line of Haitian sauces there in Miami. I met her once at the Louisiana Hot Sauce Festival in Lafayette; super cool, and very nice lady. She is the legit Haitian real deal...I just bought a case of her...

    Piment Bouc

Yeah, I'm pretty sure "Piment Bouc" from Haiti and "Goat Pepper" from The Bahamas are two different varieties...I got real interested in this a few years ago, and did a bit of research. All the photos I could find of the Haitian pepper showed red pods...Every variant of the Bahamian pepper...

    Bonda mahala

Thanks so much MW, and thanks for growing Mahala!!! Yes, the clay and iron content is very high in this garden, and I've found that building nice tall beds to improve drainage really helps with plant vigor and productivity...       I'll see ya there bud!

    Hatch chilie in jeopardy?

Lol, Eric!!! Yeah I love me some Big Jims...It's definitely a compulsory variety for me.    I love the whole rivalry between the New Mexico and Colorado growers. It can only be good for the green chile industry on the whole.   Let's keep one another updated on our Pueblo plans...

    Bonda mahala

Sorry about that Eric...I'm counting on your having a much better 2019...     Lol Rob!!! How ya doing bud? You going to Zestfest?       Thanks Philly! That you grew such amazing plants so far north gives me all the more admiration and respect for your mad skills and dedication. Again, thanks...

    Hatch chilie in jeopardy?

Eric, my very first chile garden, back in 2008, included 6 plants of Anaheim...The rich flavor was a revelation to me, and the plants and fruit were so pretty.   Maybe I will be in Pueblo at the same time as you! Carl Musso invited me back out for a tour of the farm when I was there, and I...

    Hatch chilie in jeopardy?

Eric, I had the extreme luck to travel to Pueblo last summer during the harvest season. My daughter took me to Musso Farms, on the St. Charles Mesa, where all the chile farms are. I'll post a video ASAP...

    Hatch chilie in jeopardy?

Probably 75% of my grow is now New Mexico chile (popularly and inaccurately known to the general public as "Hatch Chile"). This year my production was so good that I needed to buy this nice drum roaster:

    Bonda mahala

Here's a little Bonda Mahala video I made back in August, before the plants got really big. I don't seem to have any videos of the massive, explosive growth that came in November, after the intense Louisiana heat passed...

    Bonda mahala

Hi Eric! I didn't get a chance to sow that one...I've cut way, way back on growing unstable crosses. Now that NagaBrain and Bonda Mahala are essentially stable, I'm focusing more on production...   How was your grow this year? I haven't been on THP in quite a while, and I know I've missed a lot...
