scovilles A rather extensive scoville scale list...figured I'd share

Ok well apparently this list wasn't as accurate as I thought it was; I was only interested in it because it listed so many varieties.  I knew some of the numbers were off but others I haven't grown/eaten so I had no idea...definitely would've helped if they listed ranges instead of just the...

Good point, Jeff H. This batch will be dried for powder purposes I'm thinking...I have a small food processor for the grinding but other than that do I use some kind of mortar and pestle? What do y'all use to get that fine consistency in powders?

I've thought about freezing them, but I've always been concerned with having them get all mushy when thawed, I just feel like it would affect the quality. Right now the mason jars are all stored in the refrigerator, usually they'll last at least 4-6 weeks this way. My first thought was to...

scovilles A rather extensive scoville scale list...figured I'd share

Today I was perusing the interwebs and found a rather extensive ranking of a lot of different peppers and their scoville rating. I'm not sure exactly how accurate it all is but I'm sure it's accurate enough to give you a basic idea of how hot a pepper is.  Figured I'd share it with y'all!  ...

Virgin Hot Head grow *WE GOT PODS!!*

T5's will work just fine.  Personally I decided to pay just a bit more money and upgraded to a HPS/MH system, last year I used a 250w fixture and I somewhat recently acquired a 600w fixture for use this winter.   Ah, I stand corrected, that's a pretty decent size, and how very practical...

Virgin Hot Head grow *WE GOT PODS!!*

Just stay away from the "Spot-Gro" bulbs at Lowe's (they look like small flood light-style bulbs, I think Sylvania makes them).  They do absolutely nothing to help the plant grow, all they do is emit a shade of light that makes the plants look more aesthetically pleasing.      EDIT: Forgot to...

For those of you that may be interested: I haven't forgotten about the 7 Pot review video I promised a week or so ago, the video has been made and just needs some minor editing. Unfortunately I'm being buried by grad school stuff right now, but the video shall be up in a few days!

seeds Plant new seeds or keep old plant?

Overwintering is a great way to keep your favorite plants alive and possibly producing all year round, I did some research last year, designed a setup, and somehow all four plants survived! As someone else suggested, take a look at the overwintering thread posted at the top of the growing forum...

fertilizer Does anyone use egg shells for fertilizer?

I use broken up egg shells in two ways, I either mix the pieces into the soil or I jusr sprinkle it on top.  With the first method it provides a (very) slow release of calcium for the plants, with the second method you still get some of the calcium to the plants, but also it helps repel slugs...

pics Mite damage on my OW plants...UPDATE: Cayenne making miraculous recovery (pics inside)

Hello all, just figured I'd give y'all a quick update.  The other day at work I decided to pick up a bottle of fungicide/insecticide/miticide since the bottle I currently have is almost empty.  We didn't have the brand I usually use so I decided to go for a Bayer product...

I loved the single player campaigns for the CoD series, but the multiplayer on Battlefield 4 is easily 100x better, plus there are less 12 year olds of battlefield lol!
