    baccatum Soapy Baccatum Taste

Since it was mentioned in the "favorite Baccatums" thread I thought we could discuss this here rather than derailing that thread.   How many of you have experienced the "soapy" flavor in baccatums?  And if so, was it limited to certain varieties, or kind of across the board?  I have noticed it...

What to do with frozen Cumari do Para?

I would totally use those to make a sriracha.

favorite What is your favorite Baccatum Chili and why?

I would say at least half of the baccatums I have tried tasted "soapy" to me.  With how much people love baccatums there must be certain growing conditions where this doesn't come through.

    Musky's 2015 half-assed glog

Most of my stuff has recovered too at this point.  I ordered some replacement plants but they were pretty anemic when I got them and I would say half have died.  I still have over 100 peppers of mine going strong, if a little delayed, so I should be good (if a little late from the recovery).

    Caterpillars destroyed both jalapeños

Tobacco hornworms, very vicious.  Cousin to the tomato hornworm.  They can eat a pepper or tomato plant down to nothing in no time at all.  You should see little leaves bud out in the next week.  Your plants will be behind a little bit but should recover.

chinense The best tasting non-hot C.chinense ever - The Aji jobito

I sent an email but also wanted to say thank you here.  I did get my seeds on Monday and can't wait to grow them.  I really hope things turn around there for you.  I can't imagine waiting in line to buy food not to mention the cost of things. :(

Did you survive the hail?  Both my gardens were flattened, we'll see how much of it recovers.

chinense The best tasting non-hot C.chinense ever - The Aji jobito

I think a big package is going to Joe Delaney (or another user with an import permit) and then being shipped out to the individual people from there to get around customs.  I could be wrong but I think that is the mode of operation here.

shade Climate Change, Shade Cloth, and variety

Kind of have to select varieties based on the climate up here.  I keep trying to coax some of the slower growing peppers (melons, tomatoes, etc, too) but if the season isn't perfect I have a very small yield.  I keep trying year after year to coax Rocotos and Manzanos to grow as I would at least...

    which baccatuum? CAP214, PI260574, PI159252

I have only tried PI 159252 so I can't speak to the other two.  I love the flavor of this one though and it is on my every year grow list.   Editing to add that any thread with pepper pictures is not boring :)

So we can order from the website and Joe will ship them out?  Just want to make sure I order from the right spot.  These seem like an amazing group of peppers.
