    Eating hot and superhot peppers

Hi teejay,   I appreciate your concern! I have identified the cause. It is due to excess stomach acid, which runs in my family, so I am permanently on Nexium. I've had this issue since I was like 14. For a long time I didn't take anything and suffered through it on a daily basis. Finally, had an...

I have never had Naan bread, but now I'm going to have to see about finding it and consuming it! I do love the process of making dough from scratch, though. Actually, I just love the whole process of cooking something up that is both aesthetically pleasing and totally delicious.

    Eating hot and superhot peppers

I don't know about you, but Nexium works fantastic for me. I have pretty bad reflux, doesn't matter what I eat or drink, doesn't matter if I DON'T eat or drink, still happens, still crippling. Everything else (ranitidine, etc) is ineffective or I'm allergic to. Is it reflux for you as well...

Anyone else grow their own garlic?

Hey all,   I want to grow garlic indoors. I have an indoor greenhouse that I built to grow peppers and I would love to throw a couple pots with garlic between my peppers. Has anyone had success doing this? Everything I have read indicates that you'll only get a few garlic chutes from the effort...

    dehydrators Nesco Dehydrator

Hey Elite,   Been a while since you posted, but do you ever do pineapple in your nesco? Definitely would need to get treated with the citric acid to retain the color I believe. Do you dip the things you're going to dehydrate in the acid/water mixture or spray them?

food The Last Great Pizza Thread

If this already exists, I apologize! In searching the site, I did not see a thread for pizzas. Pizza is super fun to make and it is really easy to make from scratch. I have numerous crust and sauce recipes and use a lot of different toppings for my pizzas. Here are a couple shots of mine!  ...

How to remove heat from the skin

ah that is always the worst! I have done that, myself!   Years ago during a 4th of July party, my buddy was cooking with jalapenos and after he was through went to the bathroom and touched his junk. He was in so much agony he actually grabbed a glass, poured some milk and stuck himself in it...

I have not yet come across cotija cheese, but I really want to find it and utilize it! One thing I have been using recently is jicama. It is so refreshing and goes great on tacos along with fresh shredded cabbage and jalapenos. Tacos are my favorite thing to make. Almost always make the shells...

    Eating hot and superhot peppers

I was totally unprepared for my first 7-pot. My girlfriend's boss gave us a mixed bag of hots before we were accustomed to heat past the habanero. Ate the Fataliis and other ones with no issues. I had these two left over and was going to make spaghetti, but decided I'd try them first. She...

How to remove heat from the skin

I have, in the past, used coconut oil smeared all over the affected areas to quench the burn. Doesn't take it all away but it provided some relief!   I have also heard of people washing their hands off with shampoo/conditioner (did nothing for me), slathering in aloe (quite temporary), smooshing...

food I need some dinner ideas for tonight!

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! This Sunday, I am definitely going to make the jerk chicken recipe. It sounds so incredible I just can't not make it.   THP, that is exactly how I do my buff sauce! I'm going to have to use rice flour; it seems there is consensus that it is the way to...

ermergerd, both of those sound delicious.   My girl suggested I make a spinoff of flammkuchen- basically:   Dough 1 and 6/10ths or so cups flour 2 tablespoons of oil 5/8 cup of water pinch or two of salt   you mix it, make it super thin, then bake it at 500 with your toppings on it. I usually...
