    SANARDA'S GLOG UPDATE 9/8/2013

Pia when is your last frost date? It seems a bit early for you to plant things outside already. You have to be sure the chance of a frost is past. Specially with young plants. One freeze and they're done. I would hate to see you lose everything after so much hard work. If you're south of Trenton...

    CMPMAN1974 2013 Grow Log

Basil? Basil. Basil? Good luck on the ping pong challenge. I just glanced outside and it's snowing. Lord I hate Nebraska weather.

    The Moruga Project

When you go to replant them bury at least half of the stem. Those long, leggy stems will not support much weight as you're finding out. Good luck.

    Patrick's 2013 Grow Log

More lives than Keith Richards...hilarious! DJ haven't moved and I may have gotten the seeds you sent, Did you write "OP" on them or use yellow tape? I dipped the plant into some rooting hormone and into a cup of water. I have confidence it will survive and will keep you guys updated. Couple...

    Patrick's 2013 Grow Log

Been a while, apologies. I learned a lesson about dampening off this morning. I always thought once they got past the three or four inch mark the plants were pretty safe from it. Wrong. I had noticed some mold on the surface of the cups a while back. The fan I was using wasn't strong enough to...

the strange thing i noticed. can anyone tell me why?

Plants don't need to take naps. When you turn the lights on is it drooping or looking lively? It looks like the "I need a drink" droop to me. How sure are you that it's getting enough water to the roots?

See I knew I wasn't supposed to disagree with AJ. Told ya so! Now who do I bitch at for labeling something salt and it doesn't have any freaking sodium in it.

Somethings Eating my Pepper Plants, uggh!

Too early for horn worms? One of them can eat a two foot pepper plant down to stems overnight. You might spread some flower around them and look for bunny tracks. I'd say it's probably some type of caterpillar or horn worm.

    The Moruga Project

Do yourself a favor and don't toss any of them away until the ones you plant outside are growing and healthy. Keeping some as back up until then is always a good idea.

    Patrick's 2013 Grow Log

Like Al said, back to the peppers. Thought it was time for an update on the cuttings and the couple of plants that are still in red cups that were started last year. They have started to grow peppers again! Sitting on my kitchen table getting just a few hours of morning sun. First up is one of...

    Lime Green leaves

I replied on your other post for lime green leaves. I really hate to disagree with A.J. but sodium, mainly an excess of it, can hinder plant photosynthesis which is a big part of "green". Nitrogen is a big factor in the greening of leaves.

    Lime Green leaves

Nitrogen is the main factor in green. Try a little bit of that.

    Ideal temperatures and humidity

Dangerous temps? When it starts to get over 100 degrees it's hard to keep the flowers on the plants. There isn't a real "ideal" temp and humidity for peppers. More like a range. Below 50 and above 100 temps wise isn't conducive to growing and humidity really only effects how often you'll have...

    Plant size

They will grow as big as you feed and allow them to. Well except for the 7 pots. They all grow to a uniform height and width despite growing conditions and fertilizing routines. The red and brown ones will get 4'9" tall by 4' 4" tall. The yellow ones however tend to be slightly taller but not...

    Deformed Leaves

Yuck! That looks like a mite problem for sure. They are a pain to get rid of and can shut a plant down. When you spray for them you have to get every square centimeter of the plant. There are many things on the market that will kill them. I personally use chemicals. I've tried most of the...
