    TXCG 2016

Followed through with pickling the orange jals & chupetinhos. Mixed it up a bit to try a few different things out. Just did a hot pack method with jars coming straight out of boiling water, filling with peppers then pouring over boiling brine & sealing. No water bath processing since I plan on...

    Juanitos 2016 Grow

I'm going to have to try biquinhos next year. I'm growing their sister the chupetinho this year and it is an absolutely insanely prolific little plant. Just pulled off first batch today and bout to try pickling them tomorrow.    So do your biquinhos have any heat at all? Also do they taste the...

    TXCG 2016

Just got back from a 2 week vacation through Colorado on up into Yellowstone national park. It was awesome. I left my plants in the hands of a coworker and looks like 23 of the 24 in the raised bed made it through looking better than ever. 1 "cumari" way in the back corner looks like it got...

    Animal Picture of the Day

Employee appreciation week at work & we had a petting zoo for employees to bring their kids to. This awesome hedgehog was the coolest thing there. He loved his little blanket.

    Round Rock Texas Grow

Looking good man. I'm right down the road from you in Austin and my plants are absolutely loving the weather this year. I planted out on April 6th and haven't had to water them a single time since. Did you just overwinter last year's plants straight in the ground? With the extremely mild winter...

    TXCG 2016

Been losing a few pods with holes chewed in them which I think is being caused by those stinkbugs. Also grasshoppers had been getting a bit out of hand and putting a good bit of holes in leaves. Sprayed a bit of permethrin Monday evening and today I couldn't find a single grasshopper or stinkbug...

pests Aphids are ruining my fun.

2 TBSP (1oz)/gallon is medium concentration and should work. If you have a very serious infestation you can go up to 4 TBSP (2oz) gallon but I've never had to go that high.   Make sure to read the label well. Don't spray it in the middle of the day to avoid burning plants, do it in early...

pests Aphids are ruining my fun.

Azamax wrecks aphids. I never had much luck with safer soap or neem oil & ladybugs tend to just fly off if you dont't have some kinda tent to contain them.   But yeah i used to struggle with aphids almost every year, could reduce population a bit but never get rid of them. Then i found azamax...
