    Hello from Oklahoma

Hi Shawn, welcome to THP.  You might want to contact juanitos via IM ( He lives in Okla and has a pretty extensive pepper grow and he may still have some pods.  I know he sells them off his site, so you might check with him.

Turbo's Slog (Hot Sauce Log with a silent H)

Second design.  I like this one better.  Dante stands out against the black background way better.  Also got the label printed at Kinko's on a fancy color laser printer and it came out WAY cleaner.

Turbo's Slog (Hot Sauce Log with a silent H)

Thanks Smoken!  I'm going into a print shop today to use one of their color laser printers.  I'm pretty sure it'll come out way cleaner   Thanks tctenten!  A friend of mine is a pretty good artist and has a fun warped mind when it comes to what she draws.   Thanks RocketMan!  The Little/Big...

Turbo's Slog (Hot Sauce Log with a silent H)

And here is my first stab at printing a label.  Turns out label design is hard and I suck at it.  Not to mention, finding good label paper, the right printer, a good color pallet, blah blah blah.   It still makes me smile though

Turbo's Slog (Hot Sauce Log with a silent H)

Introducing Donte!   I've been wanting to have a fun logo on my hot sauce bottles for a while now.  So I talked to an artist friend of mine recently to come up with a design and this is the finished product.  He's kind of Fatalii terminator, with the ripped up face.  What do you think?   I'm...

    tutorial Natural Gums info

Thought I'd add a bit of information I stumbled across a year ago to this thread.  If you don't feel it fits, feel free to delete it.   I wrote a post last year about optimal pectin activation in onions and garlic that results in a wonderfully thick sauce.  This is now my standard process for...

    The Pacific Northwest GLOG 2015

Yup. I found the same thing.  I'll only pick a pod that's at best 1/3 not green to put in a bag to ripen.   I have had good luck with transplanting 3 plants into one bucket, moving it into the garage, out of the weather.  I don't have any light on them...just dark garage.  The plants seem to...

2016 garden will you have more or less peppers ?

I've found my sweet spot is around 25 plants.  That seems to work pretty well for me.  Not too many peppers at the end of the season, and my wife isn't pissed about the garden taking over the yard.  I'll probably grow somewhere around 15 - 18 varieties.

    The Pacific Northwest GLOG 2015

Well, looks like my (not) white fatalii decided to gift up some more ripe pods in November.  I'll take em!    My hoop house held up from the wind storm we had over the weekend.  I'm really surprised how strong that thin plastic film is.  Its just 6 mil plastic sheeting we use as a tarp when...

Turbo 2015 Pepper Growing: Keeping It Simple (Stupid)

Cheiro Roxa   Pulled all the pods off one of my Cheiro Roxa plants.  The other plant probably has 3x this many.  This is an odd duck pepper.  It starts off dark purple, then starts lightening up and becoming a bit green, then turns dark pink when fully ripe.  The crazy thing is all the pods I've...

Turbo 2015 Pepper Growing: Keeping It Simple (Stupid)

I eat cranberry beans just like green beans.  The pods are a red color interweaving through the green, but when you them the red fades away to just a bright green.  Super yummy.  Each year I usually grow 2-3 tomatoes, snap peas, green beans, zucchini, spaghetti squash and various herbs and...

    The Pacific Northwest GLOG 2015

I seem to have found my sweet spot with about 20 - 24 pepper plants.  Any more and it would be a bit too much work, and too many peppers to do stuff with.  Though I'm sure my wife thinks that number should be around 4-5 plants :)   My other home hobby is building RC planes from scratch.  Oddly I...

    Bonchi Project

I just found this thread and as I was reading through, thought I should warn you about treating for aphids before you pot any more bonchi.  I ran into the same problem last year.  Put the plants straight from my garden into bonsai pots, under a light.  3 weeks of great growth then BAM!  Aphids. ...

Variety unknown, but it has a hell of a bite!

From the head shape, it looks like something from the viper family.  The back pattern looks like a Diamondback Rattler.  That sucker is pretty small though, so its probably a baby.

    The Pacific Northwest GLOG 2015

My plants are still very happy thanks to their hoop house.  It's getting temps in the upper 80's (if not more) every day still, and its very humid inside thanks to the morning dew.  I think I'm gonna see how long I can keep these guys alive this winter.  With El Nino, its supposed to be wet and...
