    Meteora´s Glog 2016

That Maczka Sarga with the weird blossoms - I have the same weird flowers on an F2-plant from my cross NuMex Sunglo x Purple Flash http://thehotpepper.com/topic/60745-new-genetic-trait-with-this-f2-seedling/ I see you are also growing Purple Flash - could the The Maczka Sarga have been...

New genetic trait with this F2-seedling!?

I think so, too - in that case it is interesting wether this trait is expressed in the next generation. But maybe someone has seen this before, I await more people to comment on this... Will do - because of the dominant genes from the parents I expect the pods to be slender, thin-walled and...

New genetic trait with this F2-seedling!?

Isolated seeds were collected from glued and bagged flowers, so no. Also, I don't grow anything with this kind of flowers, do you?

New genetic trait with this F2-seedling!?

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I have continuously been overwatering and underwatering this one because it was in a very small pot and cooking in full sun on the window sill, it is now in a larger air pot, so hopefully I can control it better...

New genetic trait with this F2-seedling!?

Growing out the F2-generation of one of my crosses this year and something new to me has surfaced. This particular plant didn't meet my criteria, but luckily I didn't come around to ditch it before it showed its special flowers, which are new to me - the calyx is prolonged and reminds me a bit...

Hot Pepper Varieties for Cool, Maritime Climates.

Right, this cross is not considered possible. Scientist have tried several different approaches, so either this is a sensation or somebody thinks the cross took but something else happened (self-pollination, crossed by something else or growing an unstabile variety in the first place) - I tend...

    Rosemary

Not necessarily - some varieties will overwinter and live for several years if ample light and temperatures are provided. African Blue is one example.

    Garlic variety advise?

I have grown several strains - Thermidrome and Red Sulmona have both been great when it comes to dlavor and storing for several seasons but I am now setting mostly the variety Music since this one sets fewer, but quite uniformly very large cloves and seems to store well...

    baccatum Baccatum cross?

If you took seeds from a red ripening pod, it could not go yellow in the first year from an accidental crossing, i.e. the F1-plant would produce red pods no matter what colour pod the pollinating plant produced. This is because the colur red is dominant to all other colours and thus would be...

Donnie 2015 Season - mostly crosses

According to my research, you are right - it could be a goner within the nearest future. It makes no sense to grow it in my climate, even though I started earlier than normally, I had to bring it anside for a couple of weeks to get a few ripe pods. But I am hoping to preserve key features...

Donnie 2015 Season - mostly crosses

Chilhuacle Amarillo - an old Mexican variety described in The great Chile Book, I love the looks, flavor should be interesting, especially when dried. A great flaw is the late ripening, so this is one I have made crosses with and will be working on in years to come.

Donnie 2015 Season - mostly crosses

The Nagaquin F5 Selection - one of my first crosses getting very close to being fully stabilized. More reliable, earlier fruit-set and ripening of pods, which will dry out on the plant. Flavor is great - sweet with rosy/floral aromas and very hot.

Donnie 2015 Season - mostly crosses

Some new photos of my black-foliaged cluster-chinense, foliage was real black during summer months. No name yet, so people need not be upset... :-)

Donnie 2015 Season - mostly crosses

Thanks a lot - I do grow a few superhots, but I don't think high heat is interesting in itself, I am looking for a higher flavor to heat-ratio, so mostly working on combing flavor with good looks, earliness and disease resistance. The Jalapeno/Shishito cross is quite sweet with a lot of flavor...

Those pepper jellies look fantastic! How do you get them so clear, do you puree and strain..?

Donnie 2015 Season - mostly crosses

"Purple Umbrella" F3, ripe   San Juan Tsile - doing well out in the open in a cold summer and a very wet autumn.   Jalapeño Conchos F2 x Shishito   Zia Pueblo - very alike San Juan Tsile, should be better suitable to drying.   A variegated cross - 4 different F2-plants have been selected for...

    Stickman's 2015 - That's All She Wrote...

Very cool project! I am wondering if it works properly in my conditions, i.e. Lower temps and not that many sunshine hours. Could you say how the weather has been during the drying process..?
