    Cayenne pepper varieties

thick ones look like cowhorn cayennes to me, thinner ones possibly joe's long... my favorite cayenne variety is "andy" which is shorter than either with smooth skin- nice sweetness to them along with the moderate heat.

Will Black Krim/Black Cherry tomatoes grow fine without a cage?

yep- you will particularly need to get the krim off the ground- proximity to the ground just makes it easier for it to get blight/fungus/etc and heirlooms are already very susceptible to those types of problems.

    local farmers markets

i sell farmer's markets for a large portion of my living. the questions you are asking are almost completely dependent on the individual market. around here at some of the markets in wealthy areas near DC you can get a buck apiece for superhots- mostly for novelty factor. at my 2 main markets...

Need fresh bhut pods. Sob story follows.

Hi all. About a month ago I had a tornado hit my farm which set my peppers back quite a bit (and destroyed the tomatoes and cukes and ripped the skin off the greenhouse, etc). I had promised some bhut pods to a lady at one of my farmer's markets to make ghost pepper jelly with and would like to...

    Please Identify these 2 Herbs

basil is one of the least cold tolerant plants people commonly grow. the OP is in New York and the plant in question overwintered.- it ain't basil.

    Please Identify these 2 Herbs

first one may be marjoram... no way a basil overwinters outdoors in NY. if it is marjoram it probably smells like a milder version of the oregano.
