Fish works great but here it attracts bears and racoons. Its also high in nitrogen which is basically the oposite of "bloom fertilizer". Since chiles grow, flower and fruit all at the same time, I don't bother with any "bloom fertilizers" and prefer a more all-purpose nutrient source

LOL. You gotta love/hate those original Butch Ts. I've never had anything so hot but its the bitter acid taste that really kills

+1 on the yellow CARDI, although they aren't exactly super-hots. I guess fatalii isn't even a super-hot anymore but around the same heat as the choc. hab she ate and very citrusy

Its time to pick pumpkins here now, propably too late for pollination. Personally I don't bother with a brush, I use a whole male flower. The problem with female flowers is you only have a very brief opportunity to pollinate before they close so you have to always be looking for them.

Don't bother with the atlantic giants, you're better off looking for pumpkin seeds online that have proven genetics for giant pumpkins. I always found the Dill's Atlantic giants to be very dissapointing and I was fortunate enough to get some good seeds for free from a giant vegetable forum

Depends on variety. Some pods I have to pick before fully ripe because otherwise they split and rot, while others can remain on the plant quite long after ripening.

But don't you want liquid/brine. I think using fresh or frozen pods would be much simpler, you wouldn't have to re-hydrate and starters wouldn't neccessarily be needed. I also wouldn't used dry onion or garlic, try to use fresh ingredients and skip the re-constituting

Ya, but growing unwanted crosses can be a big waste of time and space. You likely won't even know there is a problem for 4+ months Just try to grow out as many f2s as you possibly can

There is a Canadian seed exchange you may want to get in on. You likely won't find Bhut seeds in Toronto, but ordering from the US has never been a problem for me or anyone I know

Isolate your plant away from others and let them self-pollinate. Try a site search for "isolation" or similar, there are many techniques

Why would you want bees on your chiles. Now you really have to bee prepared for cross-pollination :)
