Sun Dried Tomato's & Other Nonsense

Looks great but I don't know about simply storing in oil. From what I hear its old school thinking, there are a lot of reports of botulism with oils not heated or processed properly, but I'm certainly no expert

    black cayenne?

Yes, some plants are more prone to sun-tan, especially ornamental types with purple pods stems and leaves. These varieties are often called black or purple but they don't ripen that color

    7 Pot/Pod Douglah x Butch T

I don't believe the f1s can be hotter than either parent since they take on dominant features of parents, but I certainly could be wrong.

    black cayenne?

+1 Anthocyanin sun-tan turns pod/stems purple/black to protect from stron UV rays. Pods should still ripen to red (or whatever) and should not affect the taste or anything

    flavor best taste

Naga jolokia are usually the dissapointing PC-1 type. Many people have been dissapointed thinking they are the superhot nagas :(

    7 Pot Primo Scoville Challenge

As far as I know, the hottest pepper record has never even been in the actual Guinness book :)

    7 Pot Primo Scoville Challenge

You'd have to go to University/college for that

    7 Pot Primo Scoville Challenge

I believe you can only patent a name, not a variety unless its special enough to get PVP status There are also new criteria for Guinness records which would likely eliminate any chance of a new record without proper documentation right from the start by a certified horticulturalist

    7 Pot Primo Scoville Challenge

Personally I'm not really concerned with exact SHU. I already know they are tastey, wicked looking, stupidly hot, and rate very very high on the SHU list

    hp22b!

+0.5 Its easy to call people haters but there are also lot of legitimate questions that should have easily been aswered, but Joe decided to turn this all into a circus act instead. Im anxious to hear more about this ancient ?Chinese secret and hopefully from Ed instead of second hand

    condiment tomatoes for salsa

I love opalkas for salsa. Not the most productive growers but a great taste for a paste tomato

breeding Spacing to prevent cross pollination

Try this. Bring potted plants in the house temporarily just before flowers open until pods form and then label pods and return plant to its ideal outdoor environment.

200 trinidad butch t seeds worth

Sounds expensive when you can likely get a pound of pods for the same price and have tonnes of seeds

plant Can anyone tell me what pepper plants these are?

Some sort of C. chinense, maybe a Trinidad scorpion. What were they supposed to be?

    TSMB Article in HortTech

He also used to argue that scorpions and 7 pot/pods were the same :( You can only take so much B.S. Now where did the "Douglah Trinidad chocolate" name come from :(
  19. POTAWIE

    7 Pot/Pod Douglah x Butch T

Is the Douglah x Butch T an f1 hybrid? You may be able to get an accurate SHU of the f1, but after that every plant will be quite different(including heat levels) until stabalized

Unidentified Habanero Strain, if it is a habanero. HELP!
