After cooking the meat and sautéing the onions/peppers, I like to throw in a small amount (based on size of pot of chilli) of masa (1 TBSP for a big pot) before adding the liquids (tomato sauce, etc).  Adds heartiness and flavor.

Have you guys tried chia seeds in a smoothie?  Just tried the other day.  ~10 grams in 30 are protein, >42 percent of your recommended daily value of fiber as well. They also swell up and thicken the smoothie.

Somebody a while back had posted some pretty impressive results with a "passive" hydro grow, where there was no aeration.  If I remember correctly, the trick was that as long as there was plenty of root volume exposed to air between the stem and the water, . . .  that provided enough gas...
