    Yellow Brainstrain

All of my plants are planted in 5 gallon geopots and root pouches.  They are the same as Smart Pots, just a little cheaper and available from a local grow shop.  The plants are roughly 3.5 - 4 feet tall and spread almost 3 ft at the canopy.  The yellow brainstrain peppers are roughly a little...

    Yellow Brainstrain

Just for comparison sake, here is a picture of two of the pods developing on the chocolate brainstrain.  These are about 1 week behind the yellow B.S. in the picture I posted above.  They aren't the exact same shape, but they're close enough to give me some confidence that they may grow out...

    Yellow Brainstrain

I think it's slowly turning, but looking at them twice a day doesn't seem to speed the process up.  I've tried talking to them and playing music for them...but they just don't want to speed up.  I think all peppers are women because they move at their own pace and move slower if they know...

    Yellow Brainstrain

This is my first year growing them so I don't know how bad the chocolate versions will be.  I'm assuming they'll turn out to be the hottest but who knows.  I'm trying to locate some orange brainstrain seeds so if anyone knows where I could purchase some I would be very thankful.  I know Buckeye...

    Yellow Brainstrain

Here's a quick little update on my yellow brainstrain plant...I just love taking pictures.  This plant is easily one of the largest I have and has started producing large amounts of peppers over the last 2 to 3 weeks.  The peppers haven't started turning colors yet but I'm anticipating that to...

    Question about BBG7s

I started 5 BBG7 plants this year.  Three of them suddenly started dropping leaves and became sick with something I could not fix so after a few weeks they went into the compost pile.  All of my plants were indoors and none had pest problems.  The other 2 went outside after a long hardening off...

    Purple Jalapeño

This is my first year growing the purple jalapeño and my plants have quite a few peppers that are starting to ripen and develop nicely. Does the purple jalapeño turn red when ripe? I've read some posts that say it starts green, goes purple, and then turns red...but my peppers have been purple...

    Azamax on Flowering Plant

Soil drench it is then. I'm going with the weakest dose of 2 TSP per gallon because my infestation isn't really bad yet. Thanks!

    Azamax on Flowering Plant

Hey guys!  I came home today to find a few of my outdoor plants have become the home of whiteflies.  The plants don't show any signs of damage but I want to nip this thing quickly before it gets out of hand.  I'm planning on using Azamax as a foliar spray at 1 tablespoon per 32 oz bottle.  The...

    Pink Tiger Seeds !!!!!

I'm sure I don't have anything you would like, but what type of crosses are you looking for?  I have a few superhot to hot crosses that I could trade away.   Thanks

2 growth nodes - ever seen this before?

I have a red brainstrain that has two nodes. They formed very early on and neither appear to be dominant. Both nodes are healthy and are growing rapidly. I'll see if I can get a picture of it tonight. BTW: I almost culled the plant as a seedling because I viewed it as an abnormality and thus...

seeds What do you think is happening to this seedling

Is that a foil based pan you have the seedlings in?  I've seen foil create hot spots on plants and soil that easily burns leaves and stems.  If the only seedlings doing that are close to the edge and it is a foil pan, I would move them in or change the tray.

    New hooks and 400-watt HPS

I understand the disagreement, but from my experience I have to agree with mgold on this one. I have two 600W HID lights and both are running Hortilux MH bulbs. I have two Hortilux HPS bulbs but the plants didn't respond as well to them so I they're back on the shelf until the need arises. I...

    CHOCOLATE BRAIN STRAIN

Wildfire Chilli in Australia has them.  I just ordered some a few weeks ago and they arrived in a very timely manner.  I have 5 seeds sitting in cubes now attempting to germinate them for this season.   http://www.wildfirechilli.com.au/chocolate-brain-strain-seeds.html

    Roots, roots and roots again!

Do you break up the bottom of the cube before planting them?  I used them a few weeks ago and had great germination rates but a few struggled to grow because the root system couldn't break through the bottom.  They became stalled and just didn't do anything.  The owner at my local hydro shop...

    12/1 light cycle

I use this method and have had great results with my plants. My seedlings go under a T5 setup running 18/6 until they have 2 sets of leaves. Once they reach 2 sets of leaves I move them underneath a 400W MH light that's running on a 12/1 schedule. I ran a modified version for about a month...

    I think I've found a MH/HPS system...Ordered my system today!

Sorry for the mistake. I was looking back at older pictures and got confused. Thanks for clearing that up. Once again, sorry for the confusion.

    I think I've found a MH/HPS system...Ordered my system today!

Judging by the picture, it looks like he's selling a YieldMaster reflector with a Sun Systems MH 400W ballast.  The ballast he's put in the picture is not a switchable / digital ballast and will only run MH bulbs.  All of those ballasts appear to be older MH ballasts so you'll definitely want to...
