Totally bizarre. At least it isn`t just meJamison said:I had a Fatalii plant do that last year Nigel. Weird eh!
They are similar, aren`t they? These are slightly brown-ish black, whereas Pimenta da Neyde are purplish-black. The plants for PI 159236 are also green, not purple like Neyde are.mememe said:look like pimenta de neyde
They look really cool Would be interested in case will be able to harvest some seeds still early in seasonNigel said:Totally bizarre. At least it isn`t just me
Just in case you don`t know, these are the almost black peppers Meatfreak mentioned, that this plant produces. Yes, these are ripe. Photo is from Rainbowchiliseeds web site and is not mine. That is also where I got the seeds from.

Just the same in this case.AaronRiot said:Yep I have a Datil that developed two nodes just like that. Although, it sprouted with no node in between the cotyledons at all and took some time before the two nodes popped out. One became quite dominant in my case as well. Pretty cool little abnormality.
I know exactly what you mean, but I believe it is a pepper. Whether it is the right pepper or not, only time will tell.millworkman said:It almost doesn't look like a pepper.
Not great. I got nothing to germinate first time round, so I just put a few more seeds in.rory said:Hey Nigel, thats one crazy looking pepper!!
I was wondering how your Charapita was doing?
Nigel said:I`ve grown a lot of peppers and I`ve never seen this before. Seedling popped up with huge cotyledons, very widely spaced compared to the other 3 of the same variety. It`s a C.chinense, PI 159236.
