    seeds germination question....

Wild conditions aren't optimum, while constant temp and proper moisture are what will give ya the quickest germination.   They'll pop for ya in the garage or at your indoor temps, but germination time and percentage will suffer some.

    Devv's Dirt Grow-Almost done..

Very nice garden. Plants and pickin' are doin' mighty fine.   Careful around those potted plants though; someone's shootin' arrows at em.

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Would be nice, I'm sure we could do a lot of garden produce swappin'. :)       Yep, I thought so too. ;)       Thanks Devv       I haven't had sun scald problems in the past, but this is an unusually late start with plants that were crowded together in small pots for too long, so they are...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Yeah, first ones are long, but look farther up the plant at the newer sets. They are quite a bit different. They'll settle out into a steady pod shape in a month or so. :)

Howdy Matt, the UBSC = Unknown Brain Strain Cross.   Same heritage, the Sepia is just a trait selection from that cross. Seeds from this grow will be F5.

    Nutrient Deficiency?

Poor drainage/too wet in bottom of pot, could lead to root rot if not corrected. Allow to dry out more between waterings also adding a wick to a few drain holes will help.   Leaf holes are most likely slugs; check for them at night.

Good to hear they're doing well. OK, more pics coming up.       Thanks, no problem with dogs here, but I have hunted with them in the past and ya can't beat a good hound for finding that occasional lost wounded deer.       Here's a few shots of some of the pods that are taking shape. 7 Pod...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Thanks, color is coming soon enough. ;)       Beans and peas will pop quick, especially if soaked overnight; mine were up in 2 days after a soak.   I have more land, just use it for harvesting meat now instead of farming.     Thanks, no zucchini this season, but may replace slow eggplant...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

I'll try. :D  Just don't like raising weeds.       The fabric in the middles is water permeable, but the plastic mulch in the row isn't. Of course there's a big X incision in the plastic where the plant resides and the rows wick water from the middles too.  The plastic retains soil moisture...

Plants are coming along nicely. Fire ants here farm those aphids, but mainly do the aphid tending on the okra. You're lucky they aren't such a problem there.

    stc3248, 2013 Grow log, Season's Greetings and Season's End

Tremendously performing grow this season. Very nice.   Ever considered pressure compensating emitters? That would solve the watering problem you have at the end of a run.   Spray your plants with Spinosad before you leave and never have a horn worm worry. It won't harm your lady friends and...
