    DocNrock's 2013 Glog - 7/11/13

Nice drip setup Doc, you needed more than plans for that one, you needed a map to keep from getting lost in the tangle. You plan on adding an injector?   Plants are lookin' mighty fine as well as the poddage. :)

Help me figure out what to grow next year (sweet/mild only)

Not much sweeter than Jimmy Nardellos and Marconi Red or Gold make much better sweet stuffers than bells.

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Thanks, I'm way overdue getting things setup this season. I'd never have thought I'd be planting seeds in June!               Hopefully the late start won't put a kink in the grow. Some greenery is already head high. ;)               I had fun making it and more fun sitting in the...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Thanks, but it's just a fear of hoes that causes the method to my madness.     Dunno bout easy, but I'm hoping for easier.        Thanks annie. Yep, got the movie on Blu-Ray. ;)     Lord I hope not. If so I may have to plant a row here and the next in a neighboring county. :P     Thanks...

how does cold weather affect pods?

A light frost won't hurt the pods, but will kill the leaves and expose the pods to sun scald. If picked within a few days of the frost they should be fine.

Annie's 2014 Glog: FINAL Grow List before new 2014 glog

I spread the straw atop landscape fabric to shield the fabric against UV cause straw alone for me always lets the weeds through. 25 bales in the barn waiting to be used. Never had a problem with bites while spreading, but good to know about the grain mites. Would really like a solution to the...

Annie's 2014 Glog: FINAL Grow List before new 2014 glog

Plants look healthy and cozy in the straw. How many bales will you use on that garden?   Have thought about trying the beer can chicken, but your tasty pics have made me determined now. :)

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Thanks armac, it's startin' to shape up.     Work is a 4 letter word round here. Already thinkin' bout buildin' a contraption to lay the plastic mulch.     Thanks Matt, the weather here has now turned dry.  From one extreme to another, but am finally getting something done.     I'll loan it to...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Thanks, that's a real understatement. :)   Terrific, thanks man.   It's nice there's a pod for everyone; the fun is in the hunt for yours.       5-24-13 Well it rained last weekend so I'm still manually feeding plants. Eight days later and the plants need water once per day. These 2.64 qt pots...

    Specific care for super-hots?

All varieties of my peppers get the same treatment. Water when they need it (PH corrected if needed) mixed with a light dose of nutrients.

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

The JD is a certainty, we'll have to do a wait and see on the pods.   Thanks, gettin' em in dirt will sure make things much easier. They need water every other day now.   Do those produce prolific tiny pods? I hate pickin' thousands of tiny pods.   Thanks Matt, the trailer is a...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Plants are still waiting, but plant out looks good for this weekend. That's good cause much longer and I'd be picking pods from pots and I'm tired of watering these root bound thirsty suckers. I just hope they don't get sunburned when separated from their neighbors shade.
