    Hail!

That sucks mate. Summer time hail in Florida? Never thought that was possible, but then again, what do I know. Hoping for a speedy recovery. If they can dry out maybe they'll be OK.

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

Harry suggested last year I just email Debco and that's what I did. Someone from debco replied and told me of all the bunnings stores that had their SRM and their organic potting mix. I think I just emailed debco@debco.com.au with my location and products wanted. I think what stores carry the...

video Pepper Video Walkarounds, Part II - Aji Omnicolor

Great video, I hope you keep doing them for other varieties. I've got an omnicolor but I have to admit it's been pretty neglected while I'm into eating the yellows (yellow 7 pot, fatalii and bonda ma jacques) and the superhots. But the omnicolor is a good chilli and easy to grow. Would make a...

All purpose miracle gro, ever use it?

I've got a different version of the general purpose one here, lower N in it for sure so I know it's different to the one you're looking at. Mine lists no calcium and magnesium, does yours? If not, I guess it's not for fruiting plants and that's why they have the tomato MG version.

The Worst Rain I can Remember!!!

Nah, like Mezo said, cheap crappy construction. I only had 5 plants in buckets blow over and 3 branches snapped during that weather. (I'm a a/c mech and spend a lot of times in roof spaces daily here too Mezo)

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

^ That's exactly what I did last year when double soaking seeds, (and used tweezers as well ). Yeah bunnings is crap, I had to call around last year to find any debco products, most didn't have them. I think only 4 stores in the whole of perth NOR carried their SRM. And as far as potting mix...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

i thought you lived in the middle of nowhere, Where'd ya get pizza from LOL. Never heard of pizza capers in Perth. Eagle boys and pizzahut used to do a chilli pizza here with jalapenos, but even though I live central to perth there's no one of those around me, so impossible to get a chilli...

Temperature dropping down to 49 Fahrenheit in Michigan

Mine stay outside even if its 4C, (which is 38F), no problems. But I wouldn't let them get any colder, or wet at all. Cold is fine, or wet is fine, but that cold and wet is not good, so try keep them dry.

The Worst Rain I can Remember!!!

At least it's not windy anymore. I only had 5 potted plants blow over and a few snapped branches. but cranes at construction sites were blown over, ships have lost sea containers, trees uprooted etc For thick plastic check builders suppliers or proper serious hardware stores. Otherwise get...

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

Yeah like I said, something going on there with jiffys, I don't know what and i can't explain it. My coco coir lives outside in a pot for weeks after rehydrating with cold tap water. The only thing growing in there was a weed - as it was open to all elements. Then it sits in a heated tray...

Chile seeds anticipate arrival of inhibitive chemicals, respond with rapid germination

I'm putting my fennel plant near my chillies. If it doesn't work, I live 2km away from that university and I'll elaborately report my findings in person using mysterious ways. Plants are weird guys!

overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

I did it last year. No benefit as far as germination, but it may kill any bacteria on it? I'm thinking things like bacteria leaf spot or pepper mottle virus which are seed borne. But then again most sources say to prevent them you need a bleach or clorox based soak I think. This year I...

    very sick Scorpions

Yeah the wind today was pretty bad. 5 pots of mine got blown over, a yellow 7 full of green pods got it's branch snapped off. No rain and not much wind to speak of now though so get out there with a torch LOL. I raked a bin full of those crappy diseased fig tree leaves up yesterday, and now...

soil Geopot/Fabric Pot (watering and soil question)

I don't know if this helps the OP as I don't know the products. I'm just chiming in to say I know what they are trying to explain, as down here in perth australia it's very common. The soil here is sandy and hydrophobic, water will not sink in at all, it just runs off. So there's lots of "soil...

    very sick Scorpions

Ok. Thanks. I have had a few plants with those tight downward curled distorted leaves and always thought mites because others have had the same symptoms and said it was mites. I know too well aphid damage as every plant I had was attacked by aphids, and what I had later on wasn't like aphid...

    very sick Scorpions

I haven't seen the difference between mites and thrips infestations, but I guess the end result or the treatment is the same? Anyway Simon, delaying action is just going to make the situation worse in the long run. Would you rather a have a few pods now but a few dead plants to come later, or...

    Random Grow Questions...

Yeah it was copper sulphate I was refering to but couldn't remember the name but now I do: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bordeaux_mixture that's the powder option I mentioned, but the liquid sprays are some other copper compound I think.
