I am only using LEDs at the beginning.
A friend is using them for the full cycle and is having real good sucsess with LED floodlights with 4000K ( Natural White).
He uses around 2* 20 W on around 8 sqare feet

This year I replaced my 4 t8 with 18 W a peace in my germination chamber with 3 LED panels with each 24 W so I could germinate Seeds on three levels, before it was only 2 ( each with 2 t8 over them)
The panels have 16 White (6500K) and 8 Blue ( 460nm) and they worked really well.

Had a little set back with getting them over winter. For that I have around 230 new plants from over 140 diffrent varieties. From the plants from last year only 8 are left over.

Before I started growing peppers I did not belive that any peppers can grow in Germany :)
I have found that really important is the fertilizer and that Capsicum pubescens have to be treated diffrent then other Capsicum sp.
I keep high N Levels at all times because the Capsicum pubescens grows...
There is really much more Capsicum pubescens out there than many think.
Strated collecting Capsicum pubescens in 2007 at that time I could find about 34 diffrent Variations. At the Moment my List has grown up to 648 they are not all unique and some are doubles, also a lot are my own Selections...
The weather here is really bad this year. Had some freezing last week and now rain all the time. Still manage to get the first C.pubescens out in the pots and in the ground

Thats a real hard one to answer. I have growen a lot of diffrent Capsicum pubescens, but here in Germany.
I belive that you could also grow them good in Lousiana, I see a lot of people growing them in California , Floriada and Italy.
Maybe they now some special types that can handle the heat and...
Also can not wait until I get get them out in the pots so they can start seting pods. The weather so far is really no fun. Wanted to put them in my "greenhouse" soon but still bearly over freezing and it looks like some more snow in coming
