    hardening

Another question on this topic: Is there a such thing as too early to harden off? I have a bunch of seedlings that are just today beginning to sprout true leaves. Well, their grow box is in my room so over the past 3-4 days I have been putting them outside under a shade screen for growing...

    Spacing in raised garden?

Yeah they are likely to cross polinate all in the same 4x6 garden. You can try methods like gluing the flowers shut and putting nets over branches etc to isolate though. Not sure how truly effective those methods are, but several people seem to use them every year.

    Mold?

Have you fertilized those pellets with anything? Sometimes salts from ferts (or deposits from your tap water) will build up on the outside/top of them when they dry out somewhat. That would look white like you describe, but is not mold or anything living... If it is mold I think you can use...

Big Jims with nearly no heat!!

I'm sure they are still tasty. There's lots of ways to make your chile verde spicy (hot sauce, pepper powder, add additional hot peppers like jalapenos or habs) even if the big jim's dont have heat on their own...

Question : Do you guys think these will come back?

Those brown dried out branches are goners, but it looks like there may be some live stuff at the core of each of them. Check close up to see if there are any signs of new growth.

chinense This is not a Habanero, is it?

ITS A ..... yellow chinense!... You cant know more than that. Taste it (I'm sure they wont mind if you bite into 1 pepper :P). If its good, buy the store out. If its not, don't buy it.

    Use it or Lose It

Could also just be some hot habs. My supermarket habs tend not to be all that hot most of the time. But every once and a while they get a batch that surprises me. Probably a combination of factors.

    Meatfreak 2012 Growlog

 Something about that doesn't sound right... please dont eat her! Your daughter is lovely :) Maybe you can convince your wife to let you give her fresh peppers to suck on as a substitute for a passifier - by the time she's 10 she will be a chile eating goddess.

STC3248, Just Another Grow Log! Holiday Harvest!

Its funny you say that pepper tasted like soap and citrus... I have ALWAYS thought that Blue Moon tastes like soap. Maybe that flavor was coming from the beer you were drinking rather than the pepper :P The plants look awesome despite the hail damage, good luck with the rest of the season.

    Frosty's Glog 2012

Plants looking good frosty. Pretty good weather right now, but I'm sure it will be absurdly hot before long :( Do you use a shade screen during the summer? Also, what soil do you use? Looks like lots of perlite in it.

    seeds Seed helmet?

I got about 3/4 of my germinated seeds that popped up with these damn helmets (using peat pucks). Is there a germinating method that helps reduce the number of these? Would soaking the seeds before germination possibly help? Does it matter how you orient the seed? I think I must be doing...
